Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is a little gem in the Apulian countryside. Everything is clean and decorated with taste. The value added is in the atmosphere, typical of a local masseria, and in the host Laila, who is super helpful and an excellent pastry chef.

LithuaniaThis place was a gem of our trip in Puglia :). Host was very friendly and accomodating. She gave us opportunity to choose a room that we liked, gave us great suggestions for restaurants and the breakfast was increadible. There is a lot of love put in this bussiness and you can feel it in all the well thought details. 💚 We hope to come back there soon.

RomaniaAbsolutely nothing to dislike about our experience.
Laila, the nicest host we've ever encountered, made us feel at home, and want to return to Borgo del Gallo again really soon, hopefully. The breakfast was excellent (Laila is also a great cook and pastry chef), and we really enjoyed our daily chats with Laila before, during, or after the breakfast. We are so grateful for all her stories and advice about the nicest places to visit, the best restaurants to try, and which shops to attend. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the mattress was perfect (we slept like babies). The yard is full of lush vegetation and it looks really great. We loved the whole setup, the yard, the garden, the buildings, and the beautiful fireplace from the dining area. The location is perfect, close to everything still peaceful. Thank you, Laila, for everything, we hope to see you again really soon!

NetherlandsWhat can I say that hasn't already been said? Borgo del Gallo is a wonderful place: it feels homely, the gardens are magnificent, with so much to explore for our small kids. The location is perfect for visiting nearby villages and beaches (all of which were indicated by Laila in the map she gave us as we arrived). The breakfast is just something else: not just local and original, but incredibly tasty. Laila even made special jam for our kids. The kids are disappointed every morning with their breakfast at home now.. Thanks Laila for a wonderful stay - we'll be back!

United StatesNothing. I will say that if the bed is too hard for you, don't hesitate to let Laila know and she will remedy that immediately with a mattress topper. After doing so, it was perfect.
I could have given this property a 12 out of 10 within the first 10 minutes of arriving. I was immediately enchanted by the grounds and the setting even before being greeted by one of the most amazing hosts I have ever met. Laila's demeanor and approach to hosting is second to none. She gives her whole heart and soul to providing an optimal and comfortable experience to her guests and takes great pride and respect in sharing her family homestead with those that are fortunate enough to stay here. The breakfasts are varied each day, ingredients are locally sourced, hand made, artistically presented and lovingly announced in 5 star fashion in detail each day. Ask about the local honey with unique tones of almond made onsite, but know that it is short supply due to keeping production sustainable for the hive and the bees. The room was amazing, clean, exquisitely restored and decorated with all the comforts and no TV which was awesome. The location is perfect for exploring the area and Laila is never at a loss for ideas, suggestions and instructions to include local eateries. I could keep singing praises forever. Thank you so much for being the highlight of my trip and I travel in Italy frequently.

This was without any doubt one of our best B&B experiences ever. Leila received us in their beautiful Masseria: an oasis of green, piece and quiet with lots of shadow. She gave us tips for exploring the area as well as great dinner recommendations that you cannot find in travel guides. Perfect location to visit Salento. On top that breakfast is out of this world with everything homemade (even the bread), often from own produce and always with local products. Even my vegan boyfriend received special options for his diet. A place with a soul is the shortest summary I could give.

RomaniaWe really don’t know where to start in describing our experience at Laila’s Borgo del Gallo. Serene, idylic and authentic. The host is a passionate Italian spirit, courageous enough to transform her dream in a must see destination while travelling to Puglia. True to her principles of offering only the best local produce, Laila has prepared wonderful breakfasts for us, while storytelling every corner of Puglia - where to go, see, enjoy our time off. Accomodation was excellent and we can’t wait to come back.

The room was amazing. The Borgo is a lovely little place, very peaceful and quiet. The highlights were the breakfast — freshly baked cakes, yoghurt, and local fruits — and Laila, the hostess, who was so helpful. I don’t know how I would have managed the trip without Laila! She helped to book places, taxis, and rent a scooter. It made my trip excellent.

SwitzerlandLoveliest host ever, who makes sure you have a wonderful stay in their most beautiful garden. We’ve spent 5 memorable days at Borgo del Gallo. At our arrival, we were delighted with the beauty of the garden and the great taste which has gone into every little detail, so amazingly neat and clean (photos can’t grasp that all). We were truly spoiled by Laila’s sincere kindness and care. She was incredibly supportive and sympathetic to make us feel most in peace and happy we ever felt during a trip. And I can’t put it in words when it comes to the most delicious and beautiful breakfast she prepared for us, so flavorful and unique from local and organic precious ingredients (also from the garden). She is an extremely talented chef and you must definitely taste her flavorful creations with the added love and care for yourself. We have enjoyed the cleanliness, comfortable sleep and peaceful atmosphere. Making you wish not to leave and have the company of this wonderful family. Dear Laila, thanks again for your beautiful little gift, we can’t wait to enjoy this tasty jam for a happy weekend breakfast. We wish you and your lovely family, and your sweetest little dogs Circe and Cannella, all the happiness and joy lasting in good health. Love Sahar and Michael

SwitzerlandThere's nothing we disliked. We'll definitely return to Borgo del Gallo once we're back in bello Salento.
We absolutely loved our stay at Laila's Borgo del Gallo and it far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was fabulous and different sweet and savoury delicacies would await us every day, which could also conveniently be packed into a brownbag as take away. Laila is a formidable host not only in terms of cooking but has managed to create a very welcoming and relaxing place with Borgo del Gallo. She is very attentive and upon our arrival already provided us with many excellent recommendations on what to do and where to eat. It was a pleasure to chat with her in the mornings and once on of us fell ill for a day, Laila and her father were extremely supportive. We have never felt more at home in a hotel/b&B than at Borgo del Gallo and Laila is the most excellent host we have ever come across. GRAZIE MILLE!!

United StatesThe unit is located off of a busier road than we expected, and the neighborhood is not walkable at all (thin two-lane road, no shoulder and very fast traffic). The surrounding villages are a real challenge to drive through due to local traffic restrictions, extremely narrow streets and much more traffic than one would expect for such small villages. It was not as quiet or the off-the-beaten-track surroundings we had imagined before our stay. You can hear quite a bit of traffic and barking dogs from the neighborhood when sitting outside (quiet inside the room when the windows are closed). Our two main "negatives" (beyond being somewhat disappointed with the surroundings): First, the shower is really small (you cannot easily bend over to wash your feet, for example), and it is a real squeeze to get in and out of the shower cell. even if you are average size. If it is important to you to be able to use the internet, the wifi inside the room was virtually non-existent. It is not possible to connect a laptop to wifi inside or just outside the room. It is very difficult/unreliable with a cell phone. Laila kindly tried to reset the router, but the signal was simply too weak. She explained that she also just wants people to live off the grid there, and said you can ask to go to a room in the main house if you want to go online. We felt this was not clear from the description when we booked. I feel it should be up to the guest to make that informed decision, and it should be stated clearly that wifi in the rooms is not guaranteed, and maybe not possible at all (I tried to send an email with 3 pictures attached, and it took 90 minutes for it to eventually send. (Just as an FYI: Somehow, the router interacted with my own data connection, so I could not even use my phone using my own data plan when on the property. The moment we drove off the property, I could use my own data plan on the road in the middle of nowhere, but not when on the B&B property).
Laila and her parents renovated this old house and want to provide an experience to travelers who care about the environment. Our room was spacious and clean. There is a little fridge in the unit if you want to use it, which we appreciated. There is a medium-sized garden that is kept in an ecologically conscious way, and they keep bees, and there are some chickens and fruit trees and a small vegetable garden. (We were too early in the season to enjoy some of what you can find there in summer and fall, that will land on your breakfast plate.) Laila is there and available, and very willing to help answer any questions/inquiries you may have about the heel of Italy, and is always willing to help when an issue pops up. This is a property for those who want to interact with the owner and learn about this region in Italy. Laila and her 5 small dogs are there to interact and teach you about the region and what the land provides.
