Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. NetherlandsEverything went great. The owner and his family are kind and caring people. Fabrizio met us personally, handed over the keys and told us everything about the apartments. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and good repair with all the household appliances needed for living. We felt like we were at home...I want to say separately about the view from the apartments, it's just a fairy tale! Also at your disposal is a wonderful garden with everything you need for relaxation, restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. Those who travel by car have no problem with parking because there is enough space. I can safely recommend Riviera apartments. Thank you Fabrizio and his family for a wonderful vacation!

United KingdomThe location is a bit far north so you need to drive down a bit to find more activities. I high recommend going to villa carlotta, one of the most stunningly beautiful places I've ever visited. I was working on my laptop and the table and chairs were not comfortable for sitting more than 1 hour but the internet connection was good.
Fabrizio was a wonderful host! The views were stunning, the apartment was spotlessly clean and there were a couple of nice restaurants very closeby

United KingdomThere was nothing to complain about in relation to the property. I was very happy with it. The only issue was the rubbish and recycling. We just didn’t have enough space for this and it attracted flies. We know this is nothing to do with the owners, but we ended up with bags of rubbish and recycling with nowhere to put it or dispose of it.
Beautiful apartment with a spectacular view of Lake Como. The host Fabrizio and his family were very helpful. We all agreed that this was one of the most stunning places we have ever visited.

The location was perfect - the back of the house opens onto the lake, with gorgeous views morning and night. There is a shared garden space, and a private terrace, for sitting/eating/enjoying the outside. All the comforts of home - nicely appointed kitchen, washing machine, comfy furnishings. Fabrizio and his family were lovely, especially his darling kids, and the neighbors were lovely too. great location - away from the hub-bub of the bigger towns, but easy to get to wherever you wanted. We felt very welcomed - Fabrizio even brought us some eggs from his chickens. we can't wait to go back!
