There wasn’t anything too much that we didn’t like but we could hear a little street chatter during the night. Even the chatter is not worth complaining about.

We didn’t have breakfast but there were many great places to eat breakfast close to the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. The room was well maintained, clean and comfortable. At a time that we were having trouble finding a place to stay, we can not understand why antico Portego still had a room available. The stay was amazing.

The building is under renovation, hence there is a lot of noise, dust, workers coming in and out! It's a temporary issue though and It will be resolved when the renovation is over..

There’s a difficult time checking in that anybody’s problem our problem that we do not speak Italian, but we did finally get checked in most of it was online so that’s always a little hard. There was a person there that let us in, but then we took a while for us to get over the lined up online to actually get the key to the room once we were in and everything was fine.

Breakfast was not included, but there were so many coffee, shops, cafés, and restaurants close by really never had a problem with eating out. The hotel was under construction so the lobby was not that inviting there wasn’t any restaurant or coffee or any morning food.

The staff did not speak english, the lack of communication was a problem. It was always a 3 or 4 way of communication , where none realy was solved. Early check in request was confirmed and we were soaking wet due to weather and room wasnt ready with none english speaking staff disagreeing.

It was very central to everything, very clean hotel, unlike most other Venice hotels. I have been to few more before.

Being woke up by building work outside my window every day, hammer drill going, unable to contact anyone as it’s not manned, sent messages but no reply, difficult to get in the place when I arrived.

Kind of hard to find from the street. No signage to let you know that you are at the right place

There were some ants, and the windows could use room darkening shades.

We had to book a last minute stay and feel lucky to have found this place. The staff was very helpful and location great. The room had a true Venetian feel while also being bright and clean. We were very comfortable and appreciated the drinks in the fridge! Ps the 2nd room has a Queen bed and a settee - hope that helps!

Sometimes it was difficult to get a response from staff in time but I did visit during an Italian holiday. I know Venice quite well so I didn’t have difficulty finding the place but a photo of the street and front door would have assisted in finding the property.

Great location away from the noise of Venice but only a short walk to everything. Room was spacious, spotless and beautifully decorated. Everything is new which is unusual in Venice.

It was difficult to find the hotel as there was no sign or whatsoever. Also, the AC wasn’t user-friendly. We tried to cool it but instead it shut down and the room got very hot. As for the staff, we called them on several occasions but no response. The only person who tried to help us was the front desk girl.

The hotel was located nearby the train station (10 min walk) and was surrounded by lots of cafes and restaurants, so it was absolutely safe to walk around. The room was newly-renovated and quite spacious and had all the amenities for your comfortable stay.

The air conditioning system was rather noisy.

Loved the unique design of the property: antique and elegant. The facilities were modern and worked flawlessly. The location, a little distant from St Marks (though a manageable walk) meant the shops and restaurants nearby were more accommodating and affordable. We had a lovely stay!

Everything was amazing ! Maybe air conditioning system was a bit louder, than we wish. We suggest to have something with what we could clean balcony seats (because birds leaving unpleasant “gifts”) Otherwise place was really enjoyable.

Perfect room, we just loved it ! :) Beautifull interior - royal vibe mixed with modern style. All new, fresh and clean. Comfortable bed, amazing bathroom, loved the shower ! Surprising little compliments from hosts (cold drinks in fridge, with little snacks). Great location ! Good restaurants , fresh fruit shops and markets around. Everything in walking distance. We had everything for comfortable stay , definitely worth money and worth to coming back another time. Thank you !

If you bring heavy luggage you will have to carry it upstairs. For me it was difficult to carry my big suitcase but I would chose it again if I go back to Venice (with less luggage).

Matteo was very kind. I didn't meet him but he kept in touch with us through whatsapp. I loved the fact that they had so many goodies for us guests. The fridge had several refreshing drinks and they were a courtesy. It's quite close from the main tourist attractions, good restaurants and the train station.

There was no stuff , so in case of emergency where is nobody at the place and you need to wait Anyway I am grateful to all the personal who help me resolve my problems at 23-00 (I had lost my keys)

Communication could have been better. Access to the property was confusing and we arrived during the day, wouldn’t have liked to arrive at night. We met the housekeeper on arrival who didn’t speak any English and didn’t seem to be expecting us but was really friendly and helpful so we managed to agree check in time etc over Google translate. We asked to leave our bags (which we had agreed over WhatsApp in advance) and these were just left in the foyer, not even put into the locked room or staff room, which we weren’t comfortable with. No information was given upfront either i.e. wifi password or information about check out. We had to ask for all this info and this could easily have been including on an information sheet in the room. The plumbing is also old so there is an issue with access to hot water and the water pressure is awful. However I imagine that will be an issue across similar properties in Venice. None of this dampened our stay at all but would have been helpful to have a bit more information up front.

Amazing location! Very affordable for Venice. Comfy bed and large rooms. Nice welcome gifts - bottle of Prosecco, beers, soft drinks and snacks in room. We stayed in Primavera which had a beautiful new bathroom and a terrace.
