Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLoved everything
Very convenient, just a 10 minute train ride into venice and 2 minutes from train station to walk. Staff were very friendly and loved the all female dorms. First hostel i’ve stayed in that actually had a locker big enough for my bag. Had a late train on day of check out and baggage was so easy to store and just hung around the hostel common area (which is large) until i had to leave with no issues. Would definitely stay again

It was the best hostel I have ever seen. It has a perfect design, they thought of everything. Their breakfast is open menu and high quality. There is an event every night and it has a very pleasant atmosphere. Despite this, the prices are very affordable.

AustraliaNo curtains on the beds. Not much hanging space in the bathroom
Location was perfect, right next to the train station which was only a 5-10 minute train ride into Venice itself. Rooms were comfortable with lots of storage space. There was a PowerPoint, little shelf and light next to each bed which was handy.

I felt so safe and secure in the hostel! It was HUGE! it was genuinely one of the best hostels i’ve been to, they have a great party scene at the weekends and if that isn’t for you the hostel is so big that you can’t hear it anyways! The social areas were so big also and i just felt so comfortable. 10/10 would definitely recommend :))

TurkeyThe kitchen was a little dirty. Since it is crowded, the usage density is very high. Of course, people who use it need to leave it clean accordingly.
The location is perfect, it doesn't even take 5 minutes to walk to the train station. They have regular events every day, I met wonderful people. The cleanliness of the rooms is really good.

BrazilThere is no separation (such as doors, curtains) between the 8-beds dormitory area and its sinks (in its entrance), so it can get quite noisy when people are using, comping and going at random hours. For the price and hostel architecture, this could be better planed. It is not located in Venezia itself, so the prices might be high for Mestre standards.
The vibe, common areas, breakfast, and the helpful multilingual team. As a trans non-binary person, it felt like a safe space.

Really close to the train station, where the airport buses also stop. There is a bus stop close by. Beds were comfortable, had good amount of storage. Plenty of showers in the dorm rooms.

AustraliaSomething seriously needs to be done about the weekend DJ. Needs to move away from the Spotify transitions.
Everything you could need from a hostel. Main station is a couple minutes walk with easy access to Venice. Three sinks for the 9-bed dorm and two showers, never had to wait for anyone. Lockers were huge, each bed had a shelf, light and charger.

LatviaI wish there were more hangers and small shelves near sinks in rooms (there are shelves but they are unconveniently located under sinks)
Perfect location-close to the train station (5min walk and just 15min ride till Venice Santa Lucia), spacious luggage boxes under beds and also near the reception (you should have your lock), good breakfast, lots of space in the room and around, everything is renovated or new, events every evening, comfortable beds (mattress-wise, wide enough, easy to climb to the 2nd floor), restrooms in rooms have even bidet toilets, shower gel in showers and near sinks

Czech RepublicTwo things: one is the kitchen. While there is breakfast, €8, and vending machines and hot food available, the kitchen is *completely* inadequate. Almost no pots or pans, no sharp knives at all, and *way* too small. Investing a relatively tiny amount of money providing pots and knives would help. But even then, for a place of this size, 700+ beds, for backpackers who are watching their budget, it was not good. The other was that there was a EuroNet ATM in the lobby. EuroNet is pretty much a legal scam. There are YouTube videos about this. The charges that can be applied are *serious*. And this hostel caters to people from all over the world for whom it’s their first trip, young people and rookie travellers who have no idea about this. They’ll get home and be shocked by their bank balance. EuroNet have a massive amount of ATMs in Venice itself as well. They must be making money hand over fist. *Anyone* who’s reading this, either use your card or get cash from a *bank* ATM. Do *not* use any EuroNet machine. Due to the size of it, and the volume of people who come and go, the hostel is a little soulless. But it’s still very good
This place is excellent: secure, safe, fun, cost-effective and the staff were great. The location, steps away from Mestre station, is great for easy access to Venice itself, and it’s a great place to meet people and make friends. 😊 The dorms are great: comfortable bunks, and with a lavatory, three sinks, and *two* rainforest showers with piping hot water and closing, lockable cubicles for each 9-bunk dorm, which is very, very good. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The staff were very nice, and very helpful. They lent me a longboard. 🛹 😁😁😁
