It is at the top of a lot of stairs. Not sure that is spelt out when booking. We were all able bodied, but would be impossible if not.

The stairs were a challenge to get our luggage up and down (there is no lift) - but perhaps we should have just packed lighter!

Nicely appointed, spacious bedroom and bathroom. Lovely shady balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rita even personally guided us to our taxi pickup point as Palio festivities were on and some roads were closed.

Perfectly located to reach tourist attractions. Excellent clean hotel, comfortable and the staff on reception was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. Nearby to lots of cafe and restaurants and close to main square, markets and shopping. Would highly recommend the hotel as a superb place to stay!

Only two flaws. That we stopped too little, and that we found open the Museum in front of Contrada della civetta just before leaving. We will definitely come back

The name says it all. Central. In fact, it is very central in the heart of the old town. A stone's throw from Piazza del Campo. Comfortable and clean. Host was very helpful and very kind. Really highly recommended

It's a lot of steps (around 70) from the street up to to the reception area and to the rooms. There is no lift (as you would expect in a very old building), so it was a 'good' workout getting 4 heavy suitcases from the taxi up to the reception area in 35C heat. But that's the price you pay for being in an old building in the heart of Siena I suppose!

Good sized modern style air-conditioned room with a clear view of the Campanille. very clean, with a fridge, comfy bed and free tea and coffee in reception along with a chilled water fountain. Very central - less than 5 minutes walk to the Piazza. The staff (the owners?) were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English.

I can't think of anything! Siena is a relatively small place, so everywhere was a short walk from both the hotel and the flat.

I really appreciated the thought the manager had. As a solo traveller, staying for two weeks, I was offered a flat of theirs, as an upgrade, which meant I was able to be more self-sufficient.

Original room on 4th floor with NO elevator. Rita and Giovanni helped us find apartment on 1st floor instead.

Close to main street. Handy to good well priced resturants. Vibrant street. Staff very helpful helped book taxi to train station.

Amazing central location, staff were very friendly and allowed for an earlier check in. Room had a beautiful view and was very clean, quiet and cozy. I also enjoyed that they catered to VF pilgrims — perhaps because it is on the top floor.

Really nice staff at the reception, they gave us a map of Siena and some advices on what to visit. Room was small but clean and really comfy. The view from the window was also great, with a view of the main tower of Siena.

The only downside we found was the stairs up to the hotel. To be fair, they did say they were at the top of the building and there was no elevator. It is 5 floors up. When we booked, we were expecting to go up the stairs, but not so many. After a day of travelling, we were more tired than we expected to be. We were travelling light with only a small day pack each and 1 roller carryon, but it was a struggle for us. (We are 71 and 74). And after a day of walking up to the top of the Duomo and up and down the city, the idea of going up 5 more flights to get to our room was a little daunting. :) For younger people it won't be a problem.

The owners were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to the Campo and the Duomo. The room was very quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom had a large walk in shower with lots of hot water and pressure. Everything was very clean. It was very quiet at night. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
