I prefer bottled water not from the tap on the breakfast table. The fridge in my room was noisy but the owner switched off as soon as I asked. The lighting was too low for old eyes.

Breakfasts were very good, rooms were quiet and had plenty of space with very good bathrooms. The staff gave us better rooms than we had booked so that one of our party needn’t use steps to the attic room. We were offered a take away breakfast as we were leaving early.

The property was wonderful! If I had to pick one thing to change, I just wish there had been a drinking glass in the bathroom. But that’s no big deal.

The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom. I am a taller person and it was very cramped in the bathroom. The roofline sloped in there and I had to duck down any time I was in the bathroom. Shower stall was very crowded for me as well

I liked the location and the look of the hotel. Very Italian. I had a little charming room in the attic. It was close to where I wanted to be in the city too.

On La Violette our room had no AC so we had to keep the windows opened which was noisy.

The location was great and Claudio the manager/owner was a sweetheart! He made sure that we were comfortable and everything was ok. He gave us great tips on where to eat good Lucchese food. I did not stay at this location. He ended up transferring us to his other B&B - la Violette

My room was up some very steep stairs, maybe guests should be warned IF they are in rooms needing stairs. Other rooms have a lift.

We would just suggest a little bit better maintenance in some areas, e.g. get a broken kitchen drawer fixed.

The location is excellent, in the historic town, close to all points of interest and the train station. The B&B itself is in a some kind of a medieval tower, so the setting is interesting, authentic and charming, but unusual. Our room was tiny, with antique pieces of furniture, had a kitchenette with a fridge, witch was convenient. Breakfast is good (fresh coffee, juice, pasties, cold cuts, cakes, nuts), and it is served in a historically decorated room with a big oval table, so it feels like you are at someone's house, but this gives you a great opportunity to chat with fellow-travellers. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The location was perfect for exploring Lucca within the old city walls. Also within 10minutes of the train station. We loved how old the rooms were, and kitted out with cool antiques. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

I supposed the bathroom had a lower ceiling and had to bend to use it HOWEVER I was offered alternative options, but I wanted to stay and enjoyed the novelty, so it didn't matter at all. And it was in the attic after all!

Claudio was a wonderful host. He was having a little trouble with staff for cleaning but I'm sure that has been corrected now.

15 minute delay in obtaining access on first arrival. Some issues one day with water pressure in the bathroom. Not a problem for me - but beware the steep, open tread stairs to the attic rooms. As the name suggests the attic rooms are at the top of the house with sloping roofs - could be an issue for taller people (say over 175cm, 5ft 10 in).

Excellent central location in the historic town. Claudio and his team were very welcoming and friendly. A good continental breakfast was available. Extremely comfortable bed in a decent sized room. Daily housekeeping was excellent. Overall very good value.

Check in was a little tough. You're supposed to call when you get there, but I didn't have wifi so had to depend on someone else who happened to also be at the door.

Very thin walls. We could hear everything from the neighbors. It's on the noisy shopping street and could hear everything with open window. The breakfast was not as good as expected (we were the last) and the lady that was serving didn't show much enthusiasm in helping. If you take an attick room be aware that the toilet doesn't flash that easily and the shower is very small.

Close to all attractions. The welcoming. We got the possibility to upgrade the room.
