Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe had to leave the keys each time we ventured out, although there is a 24 hour reception, and housekeeping tried to get in and out quickly, so they often forgot things. There was also a lot of light filtering through the window of a morning.
Location was excellent, walking distance to beach and bars and on the edge of the old town. Room was comfortable and had tea making facilities. We had a lovely view of the harbour.

United KingdomThe breakfast was really poor. I was so disappointed with the cappuccino. It was like an instant coffee. Also not much available and the bread had mould on it
We loved the location between the beach and the town so it was perfect.

United KingdomIt was no fault of the hotel but a ferocious wind blew up. This meant our shutters had to be closed for 2 days. So we didn't benefit from the seaview room we had paid for. Bear that in mind when booking.
Its position on the harbour front was great. All the reception staff and restaurant staff were great. We were there for Valentine's Day and had a good evening with a special dinner with a soothing duo. It is great walking round the alleys of the old town.

CanadaIn winter it is an error to choose an hotel on the north side of the island. It is too windy and cold. If we had known this we would have chosen an hotel on the south side

BulgariaSome rooms are not fully accessible with a lift. Parking a car is an issue, since the hotel does not have a parking lot, but you can rely on the reception to help with finding a parking space. It can be a bit noisy at nights, because the hotel is on the promenade, but that is part of the fun of the town.
Fantastic location on the threshold of the Old Town. Kind and very helpful staff. The hotel is in a charming old building, fully renovated and rooms / ours at least/ are with a sea view.

United KingdomVery limited facilities: no bar, no lounge, no entertainment, bit overpriced fir the facilities it offers. Needs a bit of tidying up also; painting, mops and cleaning equipment left out in lounge areas, bikes, etc. The air conditioning also is not strong enough and the bathroom taps and shower weak.
The hotel was beautiful and the location perfect. The staff were all super friendly and helpful!

BrazilThe worst part was the wi-fi, we couldn´t connect in the room, too week. Breakfast should be improved: only one person cleaning tables, serving a good Italian coffee (espresso, cappuccino, etc) and replenishing the reasonable buffet was not enough: he worked a lot, but at the end it was slow and there were missing items in the buffet. Charging extra for an orange juice was also not nice. Shower box was too small.
Fantastic hotel! Perfect if you are driving (you can drop the bags inside the ZTL – restricted traffic zone – when you check in and get them when you checkout) and park – free, in May – ate the Port Parking, a short walk in front of the hotel. Services were outstanding, specially at the reception, where they gave us a lot of information about the town, maps, how to park the car, and helped with the (heavy) baggage. Location could not be better, at walking distance to all the attractions, churches and restaurants. Room – sea view, which I strongly recommend – was very good: comfortable, great view (apart from the parking just below, but the horizon and the fishing boats returning in the afternoon and mooring just in front were beautiful). However, the shower box was too small.

United KingdomEverything was good, but if I had to give one slight criticism it would be on the breakfast. Although there was plenty of choice (cereal, cakes, fruit, croissants, cheese, ham etc), I thought that the quality of food did not match the 4 star rating of the rest of the hotel eg no nice crusty freshly baked bread (something I particularly enjoy when visiting Europe) and the fruit 'salad' was cut into very thin slices, so that you had to take many to get a reasonable portion (which meant it frequently ran out and needed to be refilled when the staff noticed), no choice of NICE cheeses or ham. I would describe the breakfast as 'okay' rather than 'excellent', which was a shame as this would have been easy to improve without great cost.
The reception staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and (thankfully for us) spoke english. They gave good recommendations for places to eat and visit. There is lots of choice for restaurants and cafés nearby and also shops where you can buy supplies for a picnic. The hotel also has its own restaurant with some very fresh looking fish on display. We liked the large rooms and the location in the Old Town was convenient. The rooms were very clean and, despite the road directly outside the hotel, pretty quiet. It's only a short walk to the beach and there are a choice of bars in the Old Town where you can enjoy a drink whilst watching the sunset. No noisy bars near the hotel. You cannot drive your car or park it in the road around the Old Town during the Summer but you are allowed 2 visits (on arrival and departure) to drop off/collect your suitcases (they filled out a form to ensure we did not get a fine from the camera that monitors this). There is a car park by the harbour (about 5 minutes walk) where you can park for free and access in and out of the Old Town without restriction during your stay. I felt the staff made a great effort to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. A nice peaceful atmosphere in a lovely old building.

CanadaUpon arrival, I was told that the air-conditioning was broken and would not be fixed until after check-out. No appropriate solutions were given to this problem. It was extremely hot in the room. The next day, I asked for a fan, which was delivered to the room, however it didn't make a difference. The WiFi also didn't work for the entire stay. When I mentioned this to a staff member, I was told it would be fixed promptly and it never was. At check-out I asked for a discount as the air-conditioning didn't work and there was no WiFi and was denied. This was very disappointing since these amenities are built into the cost of the room. The only small relief was to sleep with the window and room door open, which created a slight breeze. This was a big safety concern. Something more should have been done to rectify these problems. It's a shame because the hotel is very cute and in a nice location, but the customer service in dealing with this issues was lacking.
The location was great and I enjoyed the free continental breakfast. The view from the room was nice.
