Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaAll fine, nothing to complain.
- Small but nice room with a clean bathroom, comfortable bed and a nice air condition, that is blowing in the anteroom instead of at the bed (like in the most other appartments on earth - but I don't know why?). It's nice that the aircondition is blowing not at the bed because it cools down the air in the rooms but you do not get bothered by a cold from the dry and cold wind of the aircon. - Check in and check out was non-personal but uncomplicated, so we did not see any person during our stay. The host wrote us via booking.com and also a piece of paper - correspondence was very friendly. - When you enter the building you have first to go up narrow stairs to get to the rooms - this is probably because of the architectionic conditions of the building. This suggests that there is no space for an elevator or something. For people with walking disabilities this may be a problem. - The hotel is located close to the center, a small footwalk away. - There are parking spots available I think, but not so many. I was by public transport so I did not focus on that. - WiFi was working good in the rooms. - There is a shared fridge outside the room (probably a shared fridge for all rooms of this hotel).

Polandshower and toilet were leaking. Sometimes it was noisy from the street, but you get used to it)
the staff is very polite, they helped all the time. The room was like in the photo. Convenient location, next to the street, where there are many restaurants. There was also a laundromat within a 3 minute walk.

GermanyUnfortunately we stayed on a bedroom that was facing the road and the windows were not quite sound proof. On a Wednesday night, we were woken-up several times by cars, passers-by, and seagulls. Perhaps the property could consider substituting the windows!
The location was amazing, very close to the train station and main pedestrian areas. Everything was super clean, Daniela was a great (and very kind) host who even let us check-in earlier and check-out later.

RomaniaWhen I booked, the property had a rate of 9.4. Which was quite high and did not meet my expectations. The room was with balcony which meant a window looking in a back dirty space + there was almost no sunlight into the room. I traveled for work and the room had a very small desk.
The property is in the city center very close to everything (bars, historical buildings, train station etc). Daniela is very friendly and helpful with awesome tips. The room was very clean.

Irelandleaving!
the location! the owner! the cleanliness - in fact there was nothing we didn’t like. Daniella is the heart and soul of Al Corso. She was attentive and informative without ever being intrusive: the perfect hostess. Her advice was spot on every time. We spent our days at Poetto beach and our evenings sampling the many fantastic restaurants within 5 mins walk of Al Corso. Breakfast was perfect and typically Italian ( by the way, best coffee we’ve had in years). We’ve left our heart in Cagliari and when we come to collect it we will return to Al Corso, every, every time. Grazie Daniella, dal cuore.

United StatesThis property calls itself a bed and breakfast, but not only does it not serve breakfast, the hosts appear to be doing the absolute bare minimum as far as providing guests with amenities. In contrast with every other place we stayed in Sardinia and Sicily, here we were surprised at how little effort was made. No common lounge area in which to relax/eat; only a miniscule microwave oven, a shared fridge, and an espresso machine for guests to organize their own breakfast; only thin, tiny plastic espresso cups provided; etc.
Location is excellent for Cagliari sightseeing. Rooms are comfortable, though basic.

SlovakiaAbsolutely terrible gigantic and hard pillows, truly neck-breaking. Non-existent view, only like a 2x2m atrium and 2m straight another room window. Small signs of mold in the shower. Room service only once during a 4-night stay.
Great location right at the end of the main corso of Cagliari. OK mattrace.
