Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaBreakfast a little bit complicated. It must be ordered in advance on a website. In case the order is not changed for the next day before 6:00pm, the same will be provided.... which happened to us all the time because we have forgot to reorder it. Also breakfast choice was somehow limited, it was more or less for not dying.
Location and house were wonderful.

HungaryThe only thing I would suggest is to have a toilet available from the garden (somewhere near the pool?), so that the local dwellers do not have to run up to their rooms, and potential other visitors of L'Aia also find a facility...
L'Aia at Uopini continues for our family to be a sort of an earthly paradise. The huge (really huge) garden of oil trees, the pool in the center, the facilities make it an ideal place to rest for smaller or larger families. The rooms of various sizes are situated either in and old pilgrim house, or in simillarily nicely built cottages, - all beautifully furbished with a real taste. The only reason I do not want to write anything even better is that I am afraid there will be more visitors and the place will raise the prices... :-)

RomaniaThe kitchen could be equipped with some cutlery and plates in case you want to eat something at the location. Also some wine glasses would be nice 😊.
We loved the location, so beautiful, peaceful and well preserved being an historic place. Also the staff very nice and the breakfast was great too.

SlovakiaI was immediately struck by the beautiful old style house and olive farm with 500 trees. L'Aia has a very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfasts were amazing but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. The family, who runs this accommodation, is incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. We travelled with a toddler and a dog and lots of luggage and this was one of the nicest places we stayed in the 2 weeks we were in Tuscany.

SlovakiaThe only negative thing which is not really a negative thing:) is that we had a quite a big car and we almost didn’t fit in the driveway and we couldn’t park under the roof:)
It was really a beautiful day on our travel. The surroundings are amazing, very quiet and beautifuly restored „winery“. Must be more beautiful in the summer. Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was nice.

United KingdomThe kitchen could be a bit better equipped with just more glasses, cups and a chopping board. Ingredients in Tuscany are amazing and we did make a few basic meals (we also had no option to be served breakfast in this apartment). We had no car so used local buses. Bus stop very close but nowhere to buy bus tickets - it took us a day or two to figure out the system. It would be a great touch to have available bus tickets for guests when they check in if you know they aren’t driving. Not a complaint just a suggestion.
The grounds at L’Aia exceeded our expectations - so much space and well thought out games, seating areas, throughout the gardens which are full of olive trees. The pool was lovely. We stayed in One Bed Apartment (3 people) to have a bit more space as we were there a week - and glad we did as then we had a separate dining/lounge area. The location is great for surrounding countryside and getting in to Siena. We came to like the nearby suburb of Fontebecci with everything you need for eating, shopping closeby with a really local feel. Stefano was very responsive by WhatsApp. We would love to come back.

NetherlandsWe were sad having to leave!
The property and the historic buildings are beautiful and extremely well-kept. Our room was really comfy and spacious, and nicely decorated. The owner and staff were very welcoming and could not have been more friendly. Breakfast is delicious and was being brought to the table: with two small children, we found it wonderful not having to get it from a buffet ourselves. The pool is lovely and quiet, surrounded by olive trees. Our kids really enjoyed the small playground, with plenty of shade. We'd love to be back one day!

United KingdomSome plates and cutlery in the kitchen would have really helped us as we had kids and didn't eat out all the time. We visited the local restaurant and they let us borrow some so we managed.
The perfect location for peace and tranquillity, and only a quick bus ride into Siena. Amazing for families as the pool and play areas are great. Rooms are traditional and clean. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful setting (my kids loved the roaming tortoise) and a fantastic pizzeria just a 2 mins walk up the road. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

New ZealandCheck-in is in a different place, meaning you have to go there first to grab a key. Not a big deal though, as it is 2 minutes drive and the process was smooth, but still something to improve. You need to fill a bit weird Google form for breakfast, where you can't select the same type of croissant (for example) twice (the form is obviously misconfigured). Again not a big deal, but could be improved.
Great value for money. Place is quite and secluded, with a huge garden and nice country-side houses. Rooms are spacious, and the main one has air-conditioning (a bit unusual). You can also have breakfast in the cantina nearby.

United KingdomYou should make sure to get provisions before getting there (water, snacks etc.) Also remember to buy bus tickets from a local tobacco shop. We got there on a Sunday afternoon and everywhere was closed and you can't buy bus tickets on the bus. These are very minor points and they did not affect the overall experience
Loved the location and the tranquility. Breakfast was very good. Stefano was very helpful both on WhatsApp and in person. We would highly recommend coming here.
