Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaChristiano met us with a warm welcome & offered to provide recommendations for local restaurants or activities. The house is conveniently situated just outside San Gimignano with amazing views over the Tuscan Valley to enjoy some wine & cheese on the outdoor table & chairs. The town is easy to drive to (5mins) with paid parking in town or you can walk from the property (about 30-40 mins). San Gimignano can get quite busy during the day so the accommodation was the perfect spot away from it all !

EstoniaMay be a little dated. But try to catch the vibe of this place.
Great place in some steps from S.Gimignano. Fantastic views from 360 degrees dining room on the second floor. Unforgettable sunset walk through wineyards with tasting grapes, wild pears and greanadine. Breakfast in outside terrace overlooking towers of S.Gimignano is breathtaking. It is a little bit old location, but it is its charm - you feel yourself like sharing rooms with owner in his old farm - not the hotel feel, but like came to you grandfather's house to old village

United StatesMosquitoes are the only problem there. Tons of them at the end of Aug. We forgot to bring our own. They are renovating, some noise before 7:30am.
The lodge locates on top of small hill. We enjoyed the sunset view of San Gimignano. There are couples of Fig tress around. The owner allowed us pick fig ourselves, they were fresh and sweet. My daughter loved them. Eating in front of Grape Yard was so relax. And we had big meeting room on top of our bed room. Seeing stars on top of roof was fun too.

GermanyWhat a gem, lovely located on a hill very close to San Gimignano, this secluded old farm is a true tranquil paradise. It was one of the first farms opening itself for tourists in the 1980’s and not a lot seems to have changed since. We cannot decide, which view is better, towards the cities towers, or the country side with its rolling vineyards. Both offer peace. This impression of peacefulness is supported by our wonderful charming and most sympathetic host. He offered us a breakfast in the garden, taking care that the table is protected by the fig tree from the sun, caring for excellent coffee and tea; just a lovely host. Our apartment is spacious even though the space is useless. A small corridor leads from the staircase to the well sized main bedroom, passing the tiny bathroom and opening into the small kitchen, which is more a dent in the corridor. Above all that is what might be called a living room. Obviously this concrete and aluminium construction was added later to the historic building. It is one spacious room, covering the same floor space as the rest of the apartment. It is the highest room on the farm and hence the highest construction in the area. The all around windows offer a stunning view, absolutely stunning. Now in July it is almost impossible to spend time in this room. The atmosphere rather resembles an attic than a living room, very hot and very dry. The aluminium window frames do not insulate, the concrete roof stores the heat. Only the blind windows try to keep the hot sun out. So even though the apartment is spacious, we can only use half of it. A few pennies (or more) spend would improve the apartment a lot. The kitchen would benefit from a re-do, the bathroom even more. Don’t get me wrong, everything is clean and working, just clearly worn and torn. My recommendation for a perfect day in Tuscany? Start with a breakfast under the fig tree, just stay there for the day, listen to the sounds of nature

SpainIt was perfection.
It is on it's own hill just outside the town. Easy to find. Its classic Tuscan country property. Quiet, unassuming elegance. It could not be more stylish in its simplicity. And such a divine breakfast room. And Cristiano could not be more gracious and helpful.

ItalyWe stayed in an apartment , with my parents and my 1year old. Apartment has 2 stories- downstairs are bedrooms, bathroom and the kitchen which is practically along the corridor. To enter every room there is 1-2 stairs which is a bit uncomfortable with older people and a toddler. Upstairs is a large living room with great view but we couldn’t use it since it was hot and humid and we couldn’t open the windows since there were tons of mosquitoes outside. Downstairs there wasn’t a place where we could sit all together inside the house. There is a balcony but then again - mosquitos problem. Bathroom is pretty old and everything would need a renovation. Unfortunately after 3 days we decided to go since my daughter was filled with mosquito bites.
Views are great and the garden is nice, San Gimignano is short walk uphill away.
