An exceptional authentic Italian cultural experience that exceeded our expectations. The family/owners were warm and welcoming. The location and bedroom view was beautiful. No need to eat somewhere else the dinner served was delicious and homemade using ingredients grown on sight. Truly amazing. The pasta was homemade and so was the dessert. Breakfast was exquisite.

Excellent breakfast options! Cafe was wonderful! The property was stunning and the location breathtaking. Our expectations were surpassed in every way. The owners were welcoming and made us feel like family. The evening meal was wonderful. If you want to experience the 'real Italy' a stay at Borgo San Martino is highly recommended!!! We can't wait to return. A la prossima...grazie mille!

The peaceful setting and the fact that they served dinner each night was a great plus. Comfortable rooms and good sized bathrooms. Courteous and friendly staff. Loved the balcony and deck chairs to sit outside.

I loved everything about my nine day stay with Il Portone. The owners are not just wonderful at what they do, but they are lovely humans. My trip to this region was for very personal reasons and with great intention and everyone there helped me see my mission through. I miss being there already and I just left! I am so grateful I stayed at Il Portone. Thank you, Donatella and Giancarlo for all you did for me. Grazie per tutto.

Beautiful, peaceful building and location! Lovely room and balcony with view of countryside. Great breakfast on the patio in the morning sun, delicious dinners, including wine! Great access to Majella hiking trails Giancarlo and his wife were gracious hosts!

Our stay at Il Portone was amazing! It's a little tricky to get to, but with GPS we managed just fine! Part of the charm of staying at an Agriturismo is that you're out in the country! The view was spectacular! And it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop outside. Our room was awesome! And it had a private entrance. If you are able to, make reservations for the evening dinner. It was fantastic! You would have never thought that you were eating on an Agriturismo patio, and not at a fancy restaurant!! Their breakfasts were also very good! Homemade and such a variety! My husband and I also enjoyed their cats and dogs that roamed around the property!

Amazingly quiet, beautiful, well-appointed agriturismo. Feels old and quaint but also super clean and updated for modern travelers. Cold a/c, fast wi-fi, excellent free breakfast and 25 euro three course dinner. Fruit trees all over property, owners' sheep dogs roam, and people pass on horseback frequently. It's hard to get to but extremely worth it if you are in the area and need a serene place to stay.

The breakfast was a disappointment! Hard, stale bread, very salty cheese, and lots of extremely sweet, hard and dry biscuits/cakes. There was some nice yoghurt and honey, and the coffee was good.

The location was lovely, on the edge of the beautiful parco della Majella, and our room was extremely comfortable, spacious and warm. The building is all of stone and a lovely place to be.
