Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UruguayThe rooms are quite old. The beds are very short if you are a standard person and our bathroom was outside the room.
Great Location. Reasonable breakfast which is good for the price of the hotel.

United KingdomOnly reason for marking it a 9 and not a 10 is purely because we only had 2 plugs that worked in room but one had the fridge & lamp connected to it so if you wanted to both charge phones or use any other electrical appliances you needed to unplug fridge which went quite hot inside very quickly! Also the toilet wasn’t connected to floor so slightest movement on the loo resulted in you getting the fright if your life when the whole toilet raised if the ground at either sides or back! 😳
The location was perfect!!! 7 min walk from train station and just a few minutes walk to the duomo! the room was clean & quirky, when windows closed there was zero outside noise! Comfortable bed shower decent enough, couple of shower gel/shampoo’s left for us. I’ve seen reviews saying the free breakfast isn’t much but I disagree! We were given 2 pancakes, 2 croissants, 2buns (all hot) choc spreads, jams, cheeses, butters, some packets of Melba toasts, fresh orange juice & a gorgeous cappuccino! Staff were so friendly also. We arrived around 11.30am and was given access to room straight away and we were able to leave our bags on day of departure for a few hours till our onward travel times. All in all would definitely stay again if in Florence!

United KingdomThe bathroom was not very nice but what can you do in an old building! and although we knew at booking it was external to our room, we had to walk across the hallway where people were having breakfast to get to it! That said it was cleaned and the staff were very nice.
Location was brilliant. Very close to the train station and the centre. While not perfect , this hotel is ideal for a budget stay. Really lovely breakfast as well.

United StatesUnfortunately the walls are a little thin and our room was near the breakfast area. Also there were some maintenance work at 5am nearby that woke us up; expect some noise because of the city and bring earplugs in case. The hotel is about 3 floors up with only stairs, so may be tricky to get to if you have a lot of luggage.
Great location, right in the city and only 8 minutes from the train station. We had a private bathroom that was across the hall, but we also had a sink on our room which was nice so we only needed to use the bathroom for shower and toilet. The room and bathroom were a bit dated but quite clean.

NetherlandsThe bathroom is for sure too small but it is not a huge problem and obviously the house is quite ancient so this is a chance to see how it was earlier.
The location is superb, the host is very helpful, met us at the hotel, explained everything we needed to know and the stay was fine with a small but good breakfast. The room was very unusual in the style which is very interesting.

United KingdomSo many many stairs but the location and staff made up for that. The decor was a little tired and an acquired taste, walls a bit thin but I would happily stay again.
Location, location, location. It was perfect. Also around the corner, (up more stairs!), was a self service cafe. 3 courses, drinks for 4 under 50 Euros! It was so easy to get to the station, the Duomo and everywhere else. It fitted all 4 of us and we had a bathroom.

RomaniaThe bathroom is not spacious. The breakfast is tasty, but not very varied.
The hotel is located right in the center of the historic city, a few hundred meters from the main sights. The staff is very nice. Good price/quality ratio.

United StatesThe room had two split twin beds and the bathroom was an external bathroom where we had to pass by the breakfast area.
The staff was very friendly and served breakfast everyday. The location was one of the the best aspects about this hotel because it was so close to the duomo, train station and river. Since this room had an external bathroom, there was a sink in the room that could be used.

SingaporeThere is no elavator. You have to climb the stairs with your luggage yourself. They do not have staff to help you with luggage. But the reception man was kind to help a little after he saw that I was really struggling with my luggage.
It is close to train station and everything else is just walking distance.

AustraliaOnly thing I didn’t like was the Toilet/Shower setup, this is quite normal in Italy to not be great in this field. Water would spill out into the bathroom from shower.
Could not have asked for a better location. Right in the middle of everything, short walk to all sites. Comfortable bed with great Air Con. Super friendly Staff. Super Simple yet good breakfast.

SpainThe hostal is in a third floor of a building with no lift. That's only relevant if you carry too much luggage. The room's bathroom is so small, you barely have space to move, and not very kids-friendly, definitely needs to be renewed.
Amazingly located this hostal offers economic cozy rooms with a nice staff. It only takes 2 minutes to reach the Cathedral. The included breakfast is simple but pretty complete. Although the rooms are not very spacious, they are beautiful with a classic Florence style and the beds are big and comfortable. Totally recommend if you want to spend a few days in Florence with an affordable budget.
