Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs with all guesthouses, the duvets are way to thick. Great in the depths of winter, I'm sure.
Great location. 3 minutes walk from BSÍ where Flybus and Excursions start and end. About 5 minutes to Hallgrimskirkja and 10 minutes to downtown Reykjavik. We used this guest house at the beginning and end of our latest tour to Iceland . A great feature is that the host will accept single night bookings. A really useful and much needed facility! We used this guest house in February/March this year too, when some renovation/development was happening , and we have to say it is now a really good place to stay. Rooms are clean and a good size with private toilet and shower. Beds were comfortable, and the showers were great. As with a lot of modern guesthouses, we never met the hosts, but they were quick to respond and sort out an access problem that occurred when we received only part of a message from Booking.Com.

CanadaI had one of the rooms on the "ground floor" (I would call it a basement), which was pretty spartan.
This property is very clean, and the beds were quite comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked (even had a machine for making espresso etc). The location for late night / early morning connections to the airport can't be beat, as it's across the street from the bus station, and just up the road from the domestic airport.

United KingdomIt looks and feels like a converted garage/store room so it's quite dark and a little dank. The bathroom sink is tiny and the bathroom door handle was missing screws and loose. The building from the outside looks a little grim but it sits in a perfectly pleasant neighbourhood.
Brilliant location - you're just a walk up the hill to the cathedral and a five minute walk to the bus station for the airport bus and day trips. Huge beds, big shower, dining table for four, two lounge chairs. Good budget option for a family if you're out and about all day.

SpainThis room was perfect.
As I wrote in an other review, this was the second time in this place. First one was on the basements room, number 3, and the experience was not good. The room was not good however this time the room was up stairs and was clean and walls painted in a nice and elegant colour, the bathroom was clean and well decorated as all the room and don't smell humidity like the other. For all this I asked my self why I has been charged same price for such different rooms?. The location of the place is the best, and that you can do self check in any time in the night like us. 5 minutes to the centre and 5 minutes to the bus station. They give you coffee and cookies on the kitchen that's perfect¡¡¡

Older accommodation but clean and well appointed. Access to a full kitchen was a bonus. Bathroom was newly renovated. They allowed us to leave our bags there before check in which was really helpful and accommodating. Close to the bus station which is walkable and very handy.

FranceNoise from airport, but we cannot be next to the airport without any noise. At least it doesn't happen too late and we could sleep well.
Good location next to BSI and RKV airport, perfect to go from one to the other one by walk. We got a room that felt recently renovated with dedicated bathroom. The shared kitchen looked also renovated.

United StatesSince my flight arrived in the morning, I would've liked to have an early check-in option or a secure place to store luggage before check-in. Used storage at BSI for a few hours.
Stayed for one night here right after arrival and it was a very conveniently located near the BSI terminal and an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Check-in was easy and my room was clean and comfortable. The free coffee and biscuits in the kitchen were much appreciated!
