This is an ideal location for viewing the lake and surrounding areas. The view of the lake from our room was amazing. The hotel and rooms are to a good standard even if they seem a little outdated.

The largest room we had during our two week stay in Iceland. The Myvatn Brewery is next door. Best micro brew lager we had in Iceland. Largest breakfast buffet we encountered and food was very good.

Beautiful and spacious room with a nice view of the Myvatn lake, comfy beds, and a clean bathroom. Delicious buffet dinner and breakfast with many local dishes. Very friendly staff who passionately introduced every dish served at the dinner. Besides, there is a espresso coffee machine in the lobby, from which you can get decent coffee all day long. There is also an outdoor hot tub (even though I didn't get the chance to use it).

The staff on duty are thoughtful and considerate. We like the coffee and tea station. It is most convenient. Breakfast was generous and a lot of variety to meet different needs.

The restaurant was disappointing. We ordered trout and lamb but both were not good considering they market the place having its own farm raising its own sheep and farming its own trout. The attitude of the woman who was at the reception of the restaurant was not good - just dumping our drinks on the table without even asking whose was whose. Overall an expensive restaurant and certainly not good value.

Large room with modern shower facility and tea pot. Hot tubs and a small sauna on site. Small convenience store with quick food & gas pumps also on site. Nice walking area across the street.

Super location overlooking the pseudocraters. Restaurant had a reasonable choice and the included buffet breakfast was very good. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The room was HUGE! Very comfortable beds. Dinner and breakfast were nice. The hotel has lots of facilities such as a hot tub, petrol station. A really good base from which to explore the local area.

The food was excellent! We ate dinner at the restaurant and also ate the breakfast provided. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the latte machine in the lobby! The family had plenty of space for our family of 4.

Sel - Hótel Mývatn An OK stay, neither great nor bad. We appreciated the size and comfort of the family room, which could sleep up to 4. My dad enjoyed the jacuzzi/spa. The swarming midges in Myrvatn somehow didn’t get into the hotel which was a nice relief. It was nice that they give free tea and coffee, which weren’t bad actually. The included breakfast was underwhelming when juxtaposed with the general restaurant offerings. I hoped/expected for a more interesting local breakfast (local cheese, skyr yogurt, etc) since it’s right next door to a farm, and the dairy items (like the ice cream we had the night before) were specifically called out on the dinner menu. The breakfast skyr flavored yogurt tasted super sweet and store-bought, and the geyser bread wasn’t fully cooked. They also had one of those waffle makers and batter where you make your own waffles - which kind of gave me Quality inn chain hotel vibes. We definitely ate enough but left a little unsatisfied. Overall the stay was fine and another place to sleep on the ring road.

Everything was great BUT this place was REALLY expensive. I understand its busy Summer season but i booked well in advance and I must not have been paying close attention because they charge the going rate of a five star resort in NYC.

The staff was great. Helpful. Friendly. Genuine. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. My room was much too big for a solo traveler but i was told they only book double rooms. Room had a big tv with Netflix. Location was also nice. Right across from the lake and craters on the main road. A little ice cream spot was next door.
