Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis hotel charges a different rate for each night of the week. Thursday we paid $399, Friday 428, Saturday $643!!! and Sunday $345. On top of these rates breakfast was not included! $28 per person is the charge for breakfast. Nothing in Reykjavík is reasonable but we found these rates to be excessive.
The breakfast buffet was good but expensive especially on top of the room rate. The location was perfect, central to everything you want to see in Reykjavik.

AustraliaAsked that the room be charged to our WISE card which we gave the person at reception, rather than the card on file. However, later realised that it was charged to the Visa card on file, and so we incurred an international transaction fee, which would have been avoided if the correct card was charged.
Location was fantastic. Love the water, tea and coffee and chocolate at reception. Staff were very friendly.

AustraliaWhere it let us down was the cleanliness of the room. It wasn’t bad by any stretch but for the price point we just expected a bit more care to be taken I.e cleaning rag was left in the room, coffee cup wasn’t cleaned, bed looked pretty hastily made, bed side tables after cleaning were left on the diagonal. There was some unpleasant / musty smells at time from the hallways (not sure how much that can be controlled). Now again this wasn’t anything critical and we still had a lovely stay - I think for what we paid we would’ve expected some of these things to be a bit more perfect but overall I’d say these are easy fixes with more care taken with housekeeping.
The location was great and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Andrea at the front desk was very lovely and so welcoming! We requested a quiet room after reading some reviews about the noise. This was easily accommodated for us. Whilst we were there over a weekend and did hear a little noise it wasn’t a concern for us. A pretty easy walk to any tourist attractions and tour bus stops as well.

AustraliaIt was very noisy outside thru the night. The twin beds were very small and very soft and I don’t like the shower over the very high bath , too dangerous to slip and fall. The towels were very old also.
It was close to the centre& restaurants & shops. The room and bathrooms were big.

CanadaThe bathroom lacked hooks for towels and/or space to place your toiletry bags, under or near the sink. Better placement of the power outlets in the room.
We found the hotel nicely situated to all the activities we were interested in seeing, easy access to bus stop # 3, for transfers to the airport bus and any excursions. Also within easy walking distance to the restaurants and shops. We walked from the Purlan Museum to the hotel on our second day and it was a good walk even in the cold! Our room was a good size, however it appeared to have been reconfigured recently as the outlets were along a wall with no table and the desk lacked any outlets within reach. Having a kettle in the room was a plus, even if I had to sit in on the nightstand to connect to power! The bed was comfortable and the room clean, however it lacked the nordic cozyness we'd seen in other hotels. Our first night was a Saturday and we could hear the sounds from a nightclub nearby well after midnight! The second night was quiet and we had a great sleep. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of options and we enjoyed the quality, selection and presentation of the food, along with the staff within the restaurant. I made the mistake of not selecting the breakfast option when booking the room and therefore we paid the standard 40 E each for the breakfast buffet on our first morning as we had to be out early for an excursion. For our second morning we opted out of the buffet and purchased 2 coffees and 2 croissants from the little cafe at the front of the hotel. Although still expensive the pricing seemed to align with other food costs when eating out in Reykjavik.

United KingdomI’ve stayed in several radisson blu hotels in the past and would say this is a more “basic” hotel in comparison. Temper expectations before going.
