The lava resort has a hot tub (we didn't use), cozy rooms, and although we visited in the off season, someone came out to cook a scrumptious breakfast in the great dining hall. The room had floor heating, which is wonderful.

The cottage was new and modern, and very clean. We didn’t cook so we can’t comment on the kitchen, but we did eat at the restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Views were spectacular, especially the sunrises and sunsets. Very quiet.

The front door lock on the apartment is a little broken so it takes some finagling to lock properly. We didnt realize it until we were trying to go to the pool and it took us longer than anticipated so it was dark already by the time we were able to go.

The apartment was modern and really well equipped. We absolutely loved using the geothermal pool even if it was an additional fee. It was also just nice to have a sitting area and couch to lounge in at the end of the day.

Bathroom door (outside entrance) cannot be locked. No detergent for laundry.

Spacious with complete facilities. Large bedrooms and nice interior design. Dining area is also spacious. Outside view is very nice. Very large bathroom with shower. This house is very suitable and comfortable for families.

Beautiful accommodations and property! The space was large enough for 4 of us to spread out and the property was very quiet and peaceful. We only wish we could have stayed longer! One of our favorite places that we stayed on our trip. Convenient location to groceries as well as continuing our journey along the ring road.

Lava Resort is a great facility. Wish there were more choice for food. We did not find any veggie options reastaurant by. Ordered Kids pizza that was okay but Restaurant did not have enough for all of us.

The brochure lists some rules that could result in fines, which makes us feel a bit pressured, as other vacation homes we’ve stayed in didn’t have such fines. However, these rules are not easy to break, so we haven’t been fined.

The wonderful room is clean, quiet and large. Stuffs are friendly.

Paying for the thermal spa was an unwelcome surprise

The showerhead in Ömmu hús is very low and although I am just 1.65 it was problematic to use it.

The staff was kind and accommodating. I lost my keys during my trip, and they searched my room twice and answered very promptly. The keys were elsewhere, but still, it was very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic, and the area is very beautiful.

The restaurant is OK, but only OK -- not a lot of choice, and lamb a bit overcooked, and very expensive. The cooker hoods in the apartments are a bit of a hazard as they are transparent and at eye level over a kitchen island.

Really nice rooms, and excellent value for a travelling family. We actually upgraded from the shared family room to the four-person private cabin, so had a good look at both. The family room was small but very clean, with superb shared facilities (kitchen especially good). Very much the best such shared facility room we had in Iceland. The cabin was really nice -- comfortable, clean, nice decor, good kitchen. The staff were also great about faciliating the upgrade.

Washing machine, dryer are provided but we are supposed to pay for detergents ! Why can’t it be provided just like other facilities in apartment ?

Just one gripe. Half my fault. I booked a triple shared room because nothing else was available for my dates. One day after my cancelation period ended a two bedroom home opened up and I booked that [almost 250 Euro more]. They refused to cancel the previous rooms saying no one would book it...even though by the time I got there someone had booked it as I met the people staying in the rooms. I could understand if I just cancelled but I actually got a more expensive room and they would not refund the other. Other than that the staff was great.
