Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bedrooms have the best view in the world. No denying. Big windows down to the floor with sliding doors. They are also warm - just right. However, they are VERY sparsely furnished, especially the shower room. Whilst some would say its part of a modern and uncluttered, for the price (as this was my most expensive hotel of my trip round the R1) there are a few touches which could have made this a really, really great hotel as the room just lacked that cosy feel achieved elsewhere. A few things…. 1. As a solo traveler, only one of the single beds was made up, and just one pillow in the entire room. Hard to sleep and only hotel presented in this way. A spare pillow at least should have been available. I had to use the cushions under my pillow which is not ideal. 2. One cup only and one toothglass. Just felt a bit weird. 3. Towels - just one bath towel (small) and hand towel (small). Towels were definite on the thin side. Appreciate costs need to be kept down but some bigger, fluffier bath sheets would really make this room/bathroom feel a bit more luxurious. 4. A Nespresso machine might be nice - quite a few of the other hotels had this and were charging £50 - £60 less per nights All of the above said, I enjoyed my stay a lot but in summary, rooms are sparse and this hotel is all about the view.
The location of this hotel (it really really is remote) is fantastic for the views especially from the room. Also the Icelandic horses walking by and the curlews everywhere. Absolutely nature central! I loved all of the above and stayed up watching the sunset. Dinner choices very limited but the lamb was absolutely perfect. Lovely staff who made me feel very welcome.

United KingdomOne of the sitting chairs was broken and the food service needs improving. For example at breakfast we had to ask for napkins and for them to refill hot food options and at dinner they forgot to bring our drinks.
The amazing views, super comfortable bed, pillows and spacious rooms. Nice toiletries and shower, decent breakfast.

This hotel is stunning. The horses and the local wildlife did not disappoint. The hostess was lovely and the food amazing. Our room overlooked the fjord as did the restaurant. This place is perfect if you want peace and quiet. We walked to the local church at the foot of the mountain opposite the hotel and I could not hear anything other than the beating of my own heart. Sheer bliss.

IrelandThe restaurant prices are steep (main dishes are €30 - €50!), but this seems to be typical in Iceland.
Situated in a beautiful, isolated spot. It snowed during our stay and it was magical. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The bed was a dream. The couple who run the hotel were both very friendly. We ate dinner in the restaurant both nights we were there, the food is above average for such an establishment. We loved the horse steak, so tender and perfectly cooked! No northern lights during our visit as it was too cloudy. But the private terrace would have been the perfect spot to enjoy them.

RomaniaThe location of the hotel is in a remote and wonderful landscape and i think that makes your stay in Iceland more authentic. Also the personal is very friendly and breakfast was really delicious with fresh baked bred and local products. We stayed during our trip in 6 accommodations and this was by far the most beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and everything was very clean and comfortable. Through the big windows you can enjoy an amazing view with the fjord. Also because you are in a remote place you have great chances to see the magical northern lights.

Beautiful location, we saw the northern lights after dinner! Loved how the rooms were individual outside access so we could sit on our balcony and watch the lights in the evening. The restaurant was a very short walk up the hill and excellent for dinner and breakfast.
