Absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean accommodation with comfy rooms, a clean an well-appointed kitchen, a super friendly host, and a welcoming atmosphere. Cute horses right next door. :)

Beautiful location! Especially suitable during the summer solstice to see the fantastic colors of the sky (weather permitting). The house is an old, typical home, giving you a sense of Iceland's history when you stay there. It is very well maintained and cared for, and the common areas are lovely, clean, and reflect the owners' loving care. The key to the main entrance is shared, meaning it should be left on the chain for all guests to use. This is clearly specified in the instructions, and the owners are truly caring. Unfortunately, there can be less considerate guests who take the shared key off the chain and keep it, preventing other guests from entering. This is absolutely not the owners' responsibility, as they evidently trust in people's honesty... and they lovingly take care of any issues caused by guests. In our case, we were left outside for a while because a French-speaking person had decided to take the shared key off the chain and keep it arbitrarily... Apart from this, I recommend it to everyone who loves the silent and fantastic atmospheres of the NORTH!

We were there at the beginning of June 2024 during an unprecedented winter storm. Safe Travels was recommending people to stay put and not drive. Some of the roads we had to travel to get to this remote area indicated that they had snow, ice, and sludge....We wanted to stay put in our previous accommodation due to the risk factor. That owner was willing to work with us... However, the owner of this rental would not work with us in the midst of this unprecedented winter storm. It took us completely by surprise because all the Icelandic hosts we had encountered up to this point were very compassionate and put their customers' safety first.

Historic building within a working farm, sheep and horses nearby, which we loved! Phenomenal view. Fully furnished kitchen, very comfortable bed. Easy self checkin. Parking just outside the gh. Bathrooms are small but cleverly structured and were ok to use.

Very well equipped rooms and kitchen with a cozy design. You are surrounded by beautiful nature, lots of horses and sheep with their lambs. Our host was very welcoming, gave us a lot of tips and helped us booking a horse riding tour at the neighbors. Overall an absolut recommendation!

My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the self-check-in process was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and the spaciousness of my room. The facilities, including the WiFi and kitchen, were top-notch, and I had no complaints on that front. However, there were a few quirks that left me feeling a bit unsure. The surrounding farm was somewhat peculiar, but I must admit that I'm not exactly an expert on farming, and I didn't book this place for its agricultural charm. The absence of any human interaction with the host was a tad disconcerting. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and a friendly welcome or some local insights would have been appreciated. One noteworthy detail was the water quality, which had a distinct sulfur smell. While this might be normal for the area, it would have been helpful if the host had mentioned it beforehand. In summary, the guesthouse had fantastic facilities, but the lack of host interaction and the peculiar farm surroundings left me with mixed feelings. Plus, a heads-up about the unique water scent would have been a considerate touch. But as said in the headline - good value for the money.
