Really appreciated that the Guesthouse staff sent a message with the Google maps location on the day of arrival. The Holssel compound feels quite new and the check-in process was smooth (key was left in lock upon arrival). Shared kitchen was very well stocked with kitchen supplies and had enough tables for several groups. The room and bathroom were very clean. Bath products smell great too. :) Overall, no complaints!

I was a bit uncertain about the checkin process as there was no one onsite, but they’re currently building something and perhaps that will be a reception.

Well, I would appreciate to know right location immediately, not to realize after driving 5km off road that we need to go back 7km more. No hair dryer in the room. No at least 2 cups and no kettle in the room. For late cold evening arrivals it's not convenient to go in the kitchen in another building. Light in the terrace should be turn on all evening, otherwise strange sound in the room. Sound isolation not so good.

We liked location even if it's far, was cool. Everything is new, clean.

The breakfast was very expensive and was not worth the money. It was a very over priced meal.

Loved this location. It was very remote but beautiful. There was a very well stocked shared kitchen where we could cook the fish we caught earlier that day.

The drive is very bumpy. In a 2WD it felt like torture.

Modern and very clean. The location was unique—felt very secluded. I enjoyed the solitude despite the bumpy drive. Breakfast was well thought out. An effort was definitely made.

The kitchen facilities are lacking for such a big complex (just three stove burners) but there is an extension being built on the kitchen building so I imagine it will be much better once that's done. More accurate descriptions and photos of the location would be helpful, too.

The room was great - well thought out, comfortable, plenty of space. A nice range of products in the bathroom (shower gel, hair care products, soap and lotion from the Sóley brand). The porch along the back of the building was great for sitting in the morning and taking in the scenery. The person that checked us in was really friendly and helpful with directions to the complex, and the location is great in an out-of-the-way way.

To get the key one needs to drive 6km from the accommodation. The pillow was too thin, and the blind not very effective. The kitchen is in a different house so needs an umbrella when it rains. In the evening we cooked there, the fuss jumped multiple times. There were cereal, coffee, and chocolate provided. Detergent ran out and Run out rubbish bin was full. As the cooking area was small, it’s a bit crowded when a few families come together for cooking.

The big ceiling to floor window has great view of the river and mountain. Both the main door and back door were difficult to lock which need a few tries. Full toiletries are provided, and the shoer has hot water with good pressure. There was electric socket beside each bed.

By far, our most expensive stay in Iceland, but admittedly a very nice one.

It was an overall amazing place to stay, we were totally happy, except that it was rather expensive with 200€ per night for 2 people (one room) and without breakfast. Coffee and tea was available even if no breakfast was booked.

The kitchen is way to small for all the people to use.If al the rooms are fully rented,than you have about 50 people and there are only 3 heaters to cook.No detergent,no kitchen towels and in the morning the electricity went out (coffeemachine,toaster,..at the same time was to much)There is no staff on the Property,they are 6 km away so nobody could but the electricity back on.This is not okay for the price you pay.

Rooms were very very hot

The guest house is spread amongst multiple buildings. Our location was 7km from the checkin place. The location was good, and the parking was ample. Road to get to the location was ok condition. The building we stayed in was a new one. The kitchen was a separate building, but it had all utensils: microwave, full fridge, water kettle, coffee maker, etc. One thing to consider: rooms were boiling hot, and we couldn't keep the doors/windows open because there were tooooo many bugs around. Overall a good place to stay for a night near Detifoss

Amazing location in the middle of nature! The very best view from our room, good beds and a clean bathroom. We arrived around midnight and the area was magic in the midsummer night light.

There wasn't much we didn't like; just remember it is more of a hostel, with private rooms, than a hotel or AirBnb. A bit pricey for what you get in my opinion; but there's not much else around in northen Iceland!!

There are two (single, lockable) restrooms for the five bedrooms, but they were clean and since there's only 5 rooms it wasn't too bad/busy. Fully stocked shared kitchen with microwave, stove, oven, kettle, fridge, freezer.
