Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThe noise during the night comes from the rooftop . It was like someone shutting the door and waked me up many times. The restaurants for breakfast were very very busy and taking too long for people to be seated, they should consider having another area or extend the time.
The room size was great. I booked a suite and it was wonderful in size and the bed was really comfy.

IndiaBreakfast was NOT good and long waiting for even for having breakfast, and paranthas were bad...I did not like the attitude of Miss DIMPLE of souk restuarant at the top of Taj tower, she was rude with junior staff and scolded her coz we asked for fresh juice, I hope Taj management will teach her some manners and give her some good training...
It's a ultra comfortable, all the staff were excellent except miss dimple

IndiaFront desk staff was slow and totally distracted. Infact she would lose the thread of conversation midway and start gazing at her colleagues. It was sort of funny:) The woman with the welcome garlands and tilak came upon us from behind and applied Tilak and garlands in a most awkward position, even burning her elbow :) in the meantime, check-in lady had counted my cash thrice and was still confused. She called to her colleague to pass something from the next desk at which he sat idly gazing into space and was so lost that he didn't even hear at 5 feet distance. All in all It was a most tedious albeit hilarious check in:) The cleanliness of the room was not upto the standard we expect of the Taj.
Grandeur and location. The facade of the hotel is most remarkable!

This hotel is a must in Mumbai. It’s is a holiday and an experience all in one. The history tour, the meet and greet, the welcome. The attention to detail is beyond words. The staff are so kind and helpful if there was an 11 I would give it. The afternoon tea was fabulous, amazing, what an experience. I would love to do it all again

Switzerland* The hotel room temperature was set to 18°C - we immediately set it to 24°C. * The Concierge did not have great offers for a tour to the Elephanta caves. The private boat offer with a speed boat was a bit too expensive. The other option was to have a guide but buy all tickets etc. ourselves. Finally, I booked a tour online from GetYourGuide which worked well. * After we checked in at 12 noon, we were unable to reserve a table for us at the Lebanese as well as the Chinese restaurants - which was somewhat disappointing. * After our dinner, the server forced 4 scoops of ice cream on us even though we said we did not want it.
Breakfast was excellent in terms of the spread. The Indian filter coffee was underwhelming. The high tea in the afternoon was very good - however, the Sea lounge and in particular our table area was very cold due to being right below the A/c vents. Since we were celebrating my birthday, the staff gave us a surprise with a cake (because we had two rooms, they gave us 2 cakes which was a bit too much). The cake was delicious. Dinner at the Shamiana Restaurant was good (some dishes very good, others okay). The staff were very polite and helpful - so high marks for service.

United KingdomThe club lounge was limited in its offering for afternoon tea and cocktails. Other hotels I have stayed at have more variety and make a greater effort. The ambience in the lounge was dark and closed. Other club lounges at various hotels do more to brightern up the look and feel and have great views.
The general ambience was great, staff were always helpful and the pool was very good. Breakfast was amazing.
