Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms are of mixed quality: we stayed in a large and beautiful room in the main old building, but were originally booked into a room in the more recent annexe which would have been less comfortable. The electrics and plumbing need modernising. Street noise can be a problem, though the garden is a great compensation.
This hotel is in a beautiful old building set in extensive and pretty gardens. There is a very good restaurant - delicious local food - as well as a coffee shop with home made cakes and biscuits, and in addition there are large communal areas on the ground floor where guests can sit, with fine traditional furnishings.

GermanyOne of the rooms had multiple issues, so we had to change the room. The bed was very broad but somewhat too short. It’s an old building boasting original furniture, so don’t expect bouncy mattresses or a massage showerhead!
Beautiful building, well preserved antiquities, large garden restaurant. Everything seems very clean and tidy.

India1. The sheets were smelly. 2. It was booked for a suite. But in the room I had 2 single beds. 3. It was noisy at night as the restaurant was closer to the room window. 4. Room confirmation - no calls/messages were there from the hotel for confirmation on the hotel booking but when we were about to checkout I received a call from reception stating it's time to checkout.
The ambience and the room was good.

United KingdomIt is unfortunate that the impression given on the various websites is that all the rooms are in the main heritage part of the hotel, which looks stunning and raises expectations. The majority of the rooms are actually in an annexe, and do not live up to the expectations raised. I had booked a “suite” which I had assumed was in the main building. So that was disappointing. There seems to be no way of making a booking in the main building. This might be a feature the owners could address in the future. I am sure many travellers would assume they were staying in the main building, but would appreciate the option of choosing a room in the grand and enticing looking old palace.
This is the second time I have stayed in the Green Hotel and the area has unfortunately become quite a bit more busy and noisy. However, the well maintained grounds with beautiful gardens compensated. The staff in the hotel were helpful. My room, on the first floor was basic, but large and perfectly adequate.

India-Staff are very easygoing & laid back, need younger/properly trained staff -Breakfast menu & preparation need improvement , took 20mins to get omelette & the coffee was laid down with a thud ! -bathroom fittings are dated & hardly working , shower curtain needed badly, water is very hard /untreated(?) - ruined my hair & was worried .
-Loved being there during Dasara -ideal location ,slightly away from city centre but close to restopubs like Bopy's , Le Ruchi Prince, etc. -Location & the beautiful white heritage building set amidst a well landscaped/maintained garden are the plus points -old world charm , no airconditioning, generator, only good old fans & the fact that windows can be kept open !! All good for a great carbon footprint ! - the craft store selling Pattachitra/Palm Leaf paintings was a great discovery - lovely artworks at reasonable prices -Sayema could give good info about how they were helping revive these dying arts ..... - good bakery with some great stuff ! -food on the lawns in the evenings ....

IndiaThe service is not provided as much the amount they charged. Their Wi-Fi are really terrible could not connect it all over the stay.. Very very bad response from the manager and staff members if we were telling any suggestions. Not a good property to stay and enjoy the day since the rooms does not have curtains and basic amenities. They have charged 6k for a night stay, but their service and amenities are really poor. if the amenities are less then they should be charged less.
Property is good & located in well suitable location. Good ambiance. Foods are really good..
