Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaTwo improvements in the room should be made : 1. There should be a wall-mounted mirror inside the room somewhere beside the area where the wardrobe is kept. 2. There should be one centre table (not too large) and one more chair in the room so that two persons can sit and have tea/coffee, etc without going to the balcony.
The staff members were awesome. Extremely hospitable. I would like to particularly mention the names of Amisha, Devasree, Anthony, Eric and Dominic at the restaurant who were ever eager to serve with a smiling face.

NetherlandsThis hotel has it all: great location, great rooms, great food and great staff. We stayed for 3 weeks in this beautiful new hotel and we enjoyed every moment of it. Located is a quiet place and still very close to the main road. We stayed in a Astor suite and it was fantastic. It was very spacious, very clean and with a large balcony. The living room was spacious and well equipped with a kitchenette and a minibar with free drinks. The bedroom had a gorgeous bed with wonderful firm mattress and very fine linen. The bathroom had a large shower and high quality towels. It was not just the room but everything in this hotel that made our stay great. The pool was nice and great. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The breakfast buffet was excellent and very large with a lot of extra options. And don’t forget the very good cappuccino. We also did the chefs table, a 6 course specialy prepaired dinner which showed the great skills of the kitchen staff. But the biggest treasure of this hotel is its whole staff. Everyone we met during our stay was kind, helpful, with a great sense of hospitality and did everything to make our stay unforgettable. Normally we would mention soms staff members for there excellent work, but in this case it would be more then 50 names. They are all excellent. You can feel and experience in every moment, that this is a true heart based hotel. From the moment we entered this hotel we immediately felt at home. We will highly recommend this hotel and we will certainly come back.

United KingdomNothing - it was amazing!
The Astor was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! Being from Goa myself, this was a gem to find in a great location with a beautiful, modern feel. The new hotel has been designed very well and the small details make the place feel like home. The staff made the stay absolutely exceptional. Everyone in the hotel was so lovely, even front security including Dinesh! From the front staff of Shabnam to restaurant staff of Hema, Joseph, Zeenith, Sachin, Sanjay, Eric and Tyson were among the most attentive and friendly during our 12 night stay. The restaurant experience was amazing, being introduced to the chefs and being able to taste a range of delicious food! Thank you to Chef Divyanshi and Chef Dave for being so welcoming and interactive. It was a magical experience and consider yourself very lucky if you get a chance to stay at this amazing hotel! I can’t wait to return again.

IndiaThe stay was very good, especial mention to the staff at the restaurants, Joseph, Sachin, Eric was really very sweet, even when we checked in the lady at the reception i am sorry i cant recall her name was really very sweet. But only during the time of checkout we had a very bitter experience, i called up the Astor Assistance number requesting them that i will be checking out shortly so could you please send someone to pick up our bags, i was told that they are sending someone right away, but after that i called up thrice but every time the same response that some one will be there, finally we had to take our bags ourselves, when i told Ms. Shrishti at the reception she too dint have a proper reply, she said you must have called Astor assistance, so i asked her whom should i have called? But no regrets overall we had a great stay.
The breakfast spread was pretty decent, fairly covering the taste for both veg & non-veg eaters, location wise i wouldn't say it was great, as it was a little inside road and especially due to the rains it was a bit of a problem. But that can be overlooked. As the stay was very comfortable.

IndiaThere were some hiccups by front office on one first and the last day but it was taken care.
My family and I recently celebrated our daughter's first birthday at Astor Hotel in Goa, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. Accommodation: The room we stayed in was spacious, elegantly furnished, and offered a kitchen setup which was really helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and amenities like complimentary mini-bar & snacks, crib for baby and beautiful tent setup made our stay even more convenient. Birthday Celebration: The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly our daughter's first birthday celebration. The hotel's housekeeping and f&b team did an outstanding job organizing everything at a very short notice. The surprise decoration was tasteful and beautifully done, with balloons, pictures, lights, and a personalized birthday cake that exceeded our expectations both in appearance and taste. Food and Dining Experience: We indulged in a variety of cuisines at the hotel's restaurant, and each meal was a delightful experience. The breakfast buffet was extensive, offering both local delicacies and international dishes. The quality of food was top-notch, and the presentation was impeccable. For the infants they all so offer complimentary warm milk and baby food which our baby loved it. They also offer chef table experience for guests staying for longer period unfortunately we missed it as head chef was unwell during that time. Facilities and Activities: Astor Hotel offers a range of facilities that cater to every guest's needs. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, which was clean and well-maintained, and took advantage of the spa services for some much-needed relaxation. The hotel's close proximity to the beach along with complimentary pick up and drop to the nearest beach and market allowed us to enjoy long walks along the shore, adding to the overall charm of our stay.

IndiaA. The guy (with moustache and a protruding belly, he wore a cap always) who is responsible for the swimming area is racist. He is extremely polite to foreigners and would wish them good morning etc. with a smiling face and not ask them what's their room number. During our stay for 3 days, while we were using our pool he approached us, did't wish event once and just asked what is our room number, in a rude tone. I lost my cool the third time and asked him about his name and who he was etc. I gave him the look that he deserved that's it. He is almost a disgrace to your staff quality. Please train him well or replace him. B. The quality and the taste of the food, especially the dinner/lunch can be better. We had ordered some fish, chicken, kulchas etc on one night but the taste was below average.
I really liked the location of the venue that is not on the busy street of Candolim area. I like the fact that the management has made best us of available space and try to provide all important amenities. 99% of the staff are kind and helpful. The suites are very spacious, kids friendly and nicely done. The breakfast menu was good. Really hope all these things remains as it even when the property gets older. Two people I would like to mention are Bapi at the front desk and Amandeep in the F&B section. Both of them are very kind, helpful and always smiling.
