Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff were so friendly and lovely. The resort was beautiful. we chose the villa with the private pool which is great if you want lots of privacy that felt a bit seperate from the rest of the resort and pool (which lots of people might like). the food was surprisingly good value for somewhere far from other restaurants. the hotel were great at organising things for us e.g taxi and a trip to gavi. would highly recommend the jeep and trek trip to Gavi.

United Arab EmiratesA TV in the room would have been great. Also something should be done about the jagged approach road from the Main Street. It is a narrow lane, too bumpy and unpaved.
A perfect getaway. The soothing nature sounds, greenery, cool breeze and the period colonial style interiors coupled with great service made this short trip very memorable.

United Arab EmiratesFood preparation took a little long, it's recommend to place an order ahead of time. Aryuveda treatment availability is limited, as there is only one therapist available.
We had a wonderful family stay at the Amritara Shalimar this April. The location is absolutely fantastic, in the middle of nature surrounded by lush green trees and plants. We enjoyed our 4 nights at the resort. The food was delicious, and the aryuvedic treatments were professional. The staff helped us to arrange transportation and activitivities. Special thanks to Sneha for all her efforts and care. We also enjoyed the show if traditional dances from Tamil Nadu, which was performed during the weekend.

ItalyThe tours offered by the property were a letdown. The Gavi tour involved an early, uncomfortable jeep ride to a point near the restaurant where we aimlessly waited, followed by an uneventful three-hour forest walk. The panoramic view was disappointingly close to the starting point, making the walk feel futile. Lunch was at an overcrowded restaurant, succeeded by a brief, unremarkable boat ride in intense heat. The second tour, a walk through a small domestic garden, was more a commercial endeavor focused on product sales than an educational experience. The restaurant was forgettable, offering only standard fare. A note for those averse to insects: the presence of sizable insects and spiders, including some encounters indoors, may be unsettling due to the property's forest location.
This place is truly stunning, nestled deep within a beautiful forest where relaxation and peace ensure you'll enjoy magnificent moments. The staff were friendly, with special mentions to the two guys at the restaurant who were always smiling and made you feel at home. The room I stayed in was very spacious and equipped with everything I needed. For those traveling from Kerala to Tamil Nadu, especially during the hot season, this place offers a refreshing retreat.

United KingdomI suppose it’s to do with what other guests ask, but I was expecting more of local authentic cuisine. There were only few. They did accommodate and prepared a special “appam” breakfast for me. I was disappointed with mainly generic Indian and North Indian food. No kerala sadhya or kadala curry etc.
It was on top of a hillock surrounded by trees. So it was very cool even when the sun was high. We went there to relax and we did get that there. Massages were good. Staff especially Anish, Shirley and Sneha were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like. Though we didn’t rate the garden spice tour that we did in the grounds. It was not particularly informative and there was a language barrier between us and the person that showed us around that meant we were unable to ask questions.
Loved everything about this place. We stayed in 5 hotels during our holiday and this was our favourite by miles. You are immersed in the lush green surroundings of all the trees and can just listen to nature doing its thing. If I could have stayed longer I would, it just made me not want to leave. The staff worked so hard constantly maintaining the grounds. Because it is designed on a hill it is even more interesting and the design is so clever, using the natural landscape. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and a plunge pool in the garden (though it was more like a warm bath). The food in the restaurant was delicious. There are lots of activities locally at the tiger reserve and we also went and watched the martial arts show which was amazing. I would come back to this place in a heartbeat.

United KingdomNothing - great place
We visited Thekaddy for two nights to visit the nature reserve so didn't spend much time at the hotel which was a pity. It is a beautiful hotel in a great setting; lovely grounds. The staff were amazing, particularly the reception and restaurant staff. The room was great and the pool, although small was so refreshing. We ate both nights there and the food was fantastic. Beer available when it was beer o'clock time. Breakfast excellent. On our way to the hotel I had a problem booking the nature reserve. I contacted the hotel and they sorted it all out for me as well as booking a tuk tuk - fantastic

Russiatours suggested not exciting. bamboo rafting is just a 5 hours walk in a Forrest with 1 hour floating a small quiet lake. not mush should you expect from spices garden and tea plantation - very amateur approach. however, this is not a hotel issue specifically, since same tours are offered across area.
great staff - nursing you - very, very sweet! very attentive, helpful, anticipating any of requests. good food - much, much better than any restaurant / cafe around. we had Villa with a private pool - very intimate and not disturbing. good cleaning, yet takes up to 2 hours)) they don’t rush indeed). massage and Ayurveda treatment masters are experienced and contributed to our total rejuvenation during 1 week stay.

Saudi ArabiaNothing, this is the best quality/price property we stayed in during our Kerala trip!
What a lovely, peaceful and beautiful property! Nice rooms nestled around the forest. The pool is such a charming spot. The front desk is amazing in helping you find and book all the great nature hikes/ tours , etc. available in this area, as well as all the transportation needed. They helped us book 3 activities for 3 days and even briefed the tuk-tuk driver on exactly where and how to deliver us. Great service! The restaurant is also great (although please take à la carte always, since the buffet tends to be very bland, perhaps accommodating the type of misguided tourist who wants to eat his own food on holiday) We used the Ayurveda center for a relaxing massage and it was great!

United KingdomThe information about local attractions/activities was not very accurate or comprehensive. I was woken up every night by some animal scratching at my door first a prolonged period. Given the semi-rural location there is probably nothing that could be done about this.
Pleasant and helpful staff the food and restaurant were quite good.
