Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is rather a shortage of electric sockets. Just one usable socket for recharging in our room. Otherwise all good.
The location is amazing, right on Lake Pichola a short walk from the heart of the city. It’s a calm location, even though it’s just metres from the bustle of town. It’s worth paying extra for a lake view room. Room 203 has a miniature ‘pavilion seat’ over the lake. The old haveli paintings low on the walls are incorporated into the decor - and are just like the ones in the nearby Bagore ki Haveli museum. A large spacious bathroom and nice having a kettle. The terrace for breakfast etc is wonderful and the light over the lake in the mornings is extraordinary.

AustraliaThings weren’t meticulously cleaned but it was fine for our standards. It was still a lot better than most of your other accomodation in India.
The rooftop terrace is perfect to watch the sunset. We stayed in a lakeside suite which was gorgeous and really spacious and comfortable. The Haveli is a beautiful old building that seems to be well kept.

IndiaCleanliness could be better. We had to get the pillow covers changed. There was no restaurant or room service. The water pressure in the tap was bad and there was only a handheld shower.
Location was simply amazing. It was more economical than a lot of options around for the same location.

AustraliaSince it's in old city..taxis are prohibited post 9am in the old city lanes...that can be deterrent if u hve too much reliance on taxi...but autos and bikes are easily available..
Its a well maintained place and location is right near the lake..so waking upto the lake is added bonus...all other tourist attractions are close by...staffs were cooperative..

Great location on on the lake. The area is nice and quiet, good for a walk. The breakfast is very good, with fresh fruit and eggs on order, the terrace view is beautiful. The staff is nice even if not everyone speaks English. The rooms are clean.

United KingdomBalcony was a little dusty, and we had a different room than the one we booked but it was still lovely.
Extremely comfortable stay in this beautiful haveli, we could sit on a balcony and watch the lake activity which was very peaceful. We had a very large bathroom with a bath and shower too. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good and they let us order extra food which was great

FranceMake sure you have the room you booked online. We first were given a partial view room instead of the lake view suite we initially booked.
Beautiful room (lake view suite) with an incredible view on the lake palace!! We had one of the most memorable sunset ever. Very quiet and peaceful haveli.

AustraliaWon;t get wifi in the rooms as the walls are thick, They can install boosters. No room service and no TV (but this is not a deal breaker).
Location is good. Walking distance to local tourists attraction and shopping street but the highlight of the property is its amazing view from the terrace. You can see Taj Lake Palace, Jag Mandir. Sunset is beautiful from the up there.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable, the hot water was sporadic and not good water pressure either. It also felt like things were done in the cheap e.g. no toilet roll in the restaurant toilet. One of our most expensive hotels on our trip and the worst one.
Great view from the rooftop and staff were helpful booking trips and in the restaurant.
