Great social hostel with the nicest staff. Met loads of people who we will hopefully meet again on our travels. Organised a slum tour which was extremely interesting. Was supposed to go on local food market tour but it was raining too much so all of the hostel went for food together, organised by the host Priya. She ordered us a range of different Indian dishes so it was fantastic for learning about Indian traditions and Indian dishes. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Mumbai.

Great social hostel in a cool area of Mumbai. Owner is very organised/helpful and gave us some great recommendations whilst in Mumbai. All the staff are very friendly and the facilities are nice. The trivia on Saturday nights is fun also

Amazing hostel with a solid atmosphere and very social, it's easy to meet people to participate in local activities especially if you are travelling solo! The staff were very accommodating and friendly, and had all the information required for the best experience in Mumbai! I would definitely recommend this hostel, and will be returning in the future.

Everything, was so clean that you could walk bare feet. People and the staff. Simply book this... It is the best hostel... Trust me I have been in another hostel in Mumbai this is just a bit expensive (that expense is required to keep a good crowd).. it is really good.

I had an amazing time at Hammock Hostel in Mumbai! The food tour, trivia night, and Ganesh Chaturthi celebration were fantastic. But the best part was the friendly people—I felt so welcomed and at home. I highly recommend this hostel for a great Mumbai experience!

I would say maybe there should be more stringent rules around conduct in the dorms. Maybe a time frame for when lights are out and when they are one. I had a situation where people came in from partying and turned the lights on while everyone was asleep. Obviously to be expected in a hostel situation, however just a simple additional rule might easily resolve this issue :)

I liked that the rooms were very well air conditioned. I enjoyed all the different relaxation areas and the fact that you could just sit down and feel yourself anywhere.

Hammock Hostels is an absolute gem in Mumbai! It made the very beginning of my Indian adventure really special. Priya immediately made me feel at home. The rooftop is such a nice place to chill, do yoga, meet other people. We got to do a free food/ walking tour of Bandra which was really good fun. Priya and all other staff were always ready to offer advise on tours, trains etc in both Mumbai and other places in India if they could! Highly recommend- especially if you are travelling solo 😊

We had a very pleasant stay. The hostel is very clean and located in a fairly quiet street. The staff is very friendly and took the time to help us with each of our reservations (bus, train) and facilitate the rest of our stay. We highly recommend!!!

Hammock is one of the best hostels I have been to. Very clean, nice vibe and the best host, Priyanka. The area is perfect, easy to reach the center but also nice to be in a calmer setting.

The only issue I had was common washrooms for dorms, it would have been a bit more easier if the dorms had attached washrooms.

The location was fantastic and the staff was cooperative as well. I had a wonderful stay there with my friend.

We're not lying when we say Hammock hostel is the best hostel in India. The effort the owner Priya and her staff went to to ensure we felt welcomed and that we had the best Mumbai experience was unmatched. Legit food tour of the delights of Bandra. At first I thought the location was located a bit too far north as its an hour journey to see sites in the south. However after seeing the gateway of india and other sites I should not have bothered leaving the hostel.

In a city full of average accomodation finally there is a hostel that understands the needs of backpackers. Tonnes of spaces to relax and meet people. events coordinated to try the street food and the surrounds. Nice comfy beds with curtains/lockers and airconditioning.

A bit of a distance to the next train station in case you don't like walking or have a big backpack maybe. But autos/tuk tuk are just a few steps away, using their meter. And the price for a night seems maybe a bit high, especially if you are used to other hostel prices in India. But please don't blame the hostel, those are the crazy accomodation costs in mumbai! So don't be shocked, it is a good price. So no issues, just sad I had to leave that place :/ Phir milenge, hope I can come back one day!

Fell in love with the hostel and the people there, maybe as soon as I stepped through that door. Mixed crowd of (foreign) tourists and (local)people who work remote- very good vibe. Also the staff is very polite and helpful, especially the owner of the hostel, Priyanka is such a lovely and hardworking woman. She sets high standards for her place and tries to give all the guests a nice experience. I was even allowed to leave my big backpack there, when I was away for one night, not an issue. Very comfortable beds with curtains, AC is working well. Nice common area and they are even handing out mosquito repellent cream if needed. The small kitchen and the little breakfast in the morning is a very nice add on, which a traveller values a lot. Amazing laundry service for a fair price. Area is nice for night walks. Got a lot of good memories from that place, a very special one was that spontanous cake cutting with the other guests :)
