Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s a pity that the roof terrace has no shade as it would be ideal be able to eat in full sight of the temple
It’s a good place to stay in Hampi. My room was large and comfortable. The food was generally good and the location is very good - at the heart of Hampi Bazaar and very close to the big temple

Fantastic location, great and friendly staff that dealt promptly with extra requests. They provided train station pick up and drop off and a good deal for all our Hampi sightseeing. Loved the roof top seating area.

IndiaI took the non AC rooms. The washrooms are bit too small. Also, the rooms are ok, not very great. But mostly all the stays at that place seem to be the same. Thr AC rooms are probably bigger and more comfortable.
Ravi was very helpful. He called up the previous day and sent auto for pickup. Also helped in planning the trip. The food at the place is also very good. Have mostly all varieties, and are cooked fresh. Thr location is really as stated, with very nice view from the restaurant.

IndiaApproach roads (bye lanes) , Management cant do much about it as Dpt ASI doesnt give any permission to do any improvements in the area . Since i didnt walk around in those streets & was on Auto that issue havnt affected me , but a flag to alert high expectation fellas . After all , my idea was to explore Hampi as a Spiritual & Heritage destination & is a dream destination & Gopi's stay is adding value to it . Viroopaksha Mandir ( Temple) , is a holistic place but poorly managed by temple trust authorities .
I have picked A/C single occupancy room with them . The Owners (staffs )- Brothers were awesome & so is their helping staffs . They have arranged an auto for me from railway station , for the sight seeing - a bit on pricy side but comparing to random drivers you meet at the auto/Taxi they were feasible . I have enjoyed 1 night / 2 days stay there , very close to Viroopaksha mandir . The lanes approaching the property was muddy due to rains , but if you are looking for a 'Very Hampi' experience this is a sure bet . look for Maruthi a young fellow as auto driver , very comfortable fellow to travel around .

Enjoyed the hospitality of host Manjunath. He’s such a a gentleman. His parents and family also live there and together they provide a lovely environment for all guests to enjoy. The rooftop restaurant is good with competent and smiling staff like Pampa and Vishnu, who’s an excellent chef. The room and bathroom are clean and spacious too. The location is perfect, being next to the Virupaksha temple. Manju also arranged for my airport pick up and drop off. Car owner and driver Arun is a lovely man whose company I enjoyed during our long ride from Hubli. My three-day stay was very pleasant. I strongly recommend Gopi Guest House to all.

IndiaLocation is in the middle of Hampi.. so all places are very close. People are really good and helpful. Since this is a rural place, so don't expect to be like resort or luxurious. These are individual houses where owner stays in one floor and other floor is given for hotel rooms. Restaurant is available. Food is good. Even foreigner hippies will also come for food.

IndiaMenu in their restaurant could be better. For the prices they charge, food they currently serve could also be improved. They also give auto-rickshaw service which could also be done at more reasonable prices. (Side note : although this is not related to the guest house but overall locality itself, where Hampi sites are situated, availability of a medical store in the area would have been a boon)
Nice location. Very walkable from some of the tourist spots in Hampi. You can see Virupaksha temple and Matunga hill from the roof of the building. Friendly host.

United KingdomThe insect mesh in my bathroom had fallen away- but actually the mosquitos were not bad there. We had no view from out rooms in the ground floor - windows were opaque and net curtains a bit grubby but this is a budget hotel in India so no big deal!
We wanted to stay right in the bazaaar and Gopi is right there with bite of the temple from the roof restaurant- very atmospheric! Rooms were clean and colourful- I paid for an a/c room which worked. Rabi and his family and staff were brilliant at looking after us. We took tour of ruins and to the Hanuman temple with his brother driving the rickshaw and we wanted to go bouldering and he referred us to the instructor, Sunni

This is a decent budget hotel very close to India Gates & many shops & places to eat on the doorstep. We paid £38 per night for 3 people for a room with aircon. Staff were polite, pleasant & very helpful.
