The staff are very helpiful and caring . Our special recommendation for Deepa, Amarchandra Hoshi and of course Abordip, because of whom, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel restaurant, weary as we were after, spending long hours at religious ceremonies in this oppressive heat .

We stayed 3 days in this hotel. The room was spacious and clean, but noisy. The breakfast was great and the lunch was very good. Wifi was good. The staff was very kind and helpful, except for the reception. They were slow and unkind to each other. Special thanks to some very kind staff members: Arjun from the coffee bar and Monu and Chura Mani from the restaurant. Suggestion: use refill bottles for water instead of plastic bottles.

Reception staff is unfriendly. Upon arrival we were talked to in a plane tone. For three persons we got only one key card and when we emphasized this, we did not get another one. As our booking was for three nights and the last day we were going to leave at half past four in the morning we made a booking without breakfast. However, for the direct breakfast payment of first 2 days we were charged more at the reception. When I asked the staff if my booking could not be modified, so that I would pay the same for breakfast as at time of booking, I was told in a robotic way that this was not possible. As I work with this OTA myself, I know that modification is possible if you want to go the extra mile. The staff was quite unfriendly and when I said that now I understand the other reviews and why they are not scoring high, they said that it is very normal to have bad reviews along with a few good ones. It was clear that the ambition of the staff to score high reviews were not totally there. Cleaning of the nicely made rooms was also not good. We did not get a totally clean room. Shower door is opening oddly without much space to pass. Extra bed is made strangely, leaving the mattress without cover except for the upper surface. I had a feeling that a good management is missing and a good training of the staff.

The room was spacious. The reception area is big. Staff in the breakfast room is very friendly and attentive. Nice property. Security staff is always friendly and a few staff near the reception are smiling and helpful.

It is not located in good area of Varanasi. We could not even take a walk in the crowded street which is full of unruly traffic, just outside the hotel. Food in the restaurant is exceptionally highly priced. Even a cup of coffee is priced more than what we pay in Australia. Unbelievable. It is more of a business hotel suitable for business travellers and not for family. Hotel provides toiletries for one person (for example everything in the room is for one single person 😊)

The hotel has everything you need and the staff is very welcoming, professional and helpful We arranged last minute a tour on the boat through the hotel and it worked perfectly. At the restaurant they were flexible to adjust to our requests.

The platform where the bed was placed. I fell twice when I woke up at nights to go to the bathroom, as I was not remembering that i was on a platform and that I have to step down twice to the floor. Dark colors in Bathroom makes the bathroom look very dark

The staff, front desk, kitchen, and wait staff all seemed to be unsure of what to do. They were willing but not successful. The bar was well ran by a knowledgeable and friendly guy. The concierge was iffy.

Please avoid for near term until the building's engineering and staff training issues have been addressed. Please don't let the pics of the grand lobby, marble bathrooms and larger room sizes fool you. Property is not tourist ready. Other reviewers warned about this but I was unfortunately taken by the flashy photos. We had 2 rooms for 2 nights and neither had water pressure or hot (enough) water. My husband had to shower with a washcloth because the pressure was almost non-existent. When one visits in the winter, after an evening boat ride on the Ganges, one expects to be able to take a warm shower. But it was not available. The first night we got in late due to flight delays so didn't report showers and then went off at 730 am for sightseeing, The next night was our last night so thought we'd report in the morning at check-out. So we did. And asked for some consideration since they couldn't provide 'hot running shower' which is a basic necessity for a 5-star in the winter and not an amenity (like pool or gym). They said we should've told them right away after we learned of this. Understood but having said that, we asked for toilet paper immediately after check-in and didn't receive it till the next afternoon. So not sure engineering would've magically provided hot water upon complaining. The Staff had no flexibility from Mgmt to handle this other than to offer 10% off our in-room dining and a car rental which was ordered after check-in. The 10% off amounted to Rp 1K discount which pales when one has paid Rs. 70K total for the rooms. Disappointing. I was drawn in by photos of marble bathrooms but the water pressure/temp is the true substance which was missing. Also, the travel desk is not quite ready to support. I think this may be more suited for business travelers vs tourists.

Breakfast was great, typical of a buffet all inclusive spread. Lobby was grand and spacious with plenty of comfortable and tasteful seating. Room size perfect and clean, Staff very pleasant, willing to accommodate though noticeably less experienced compared to other 5-star properties in India, as if they had not worked in the hospitality industry at the 5-star level before.
