Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IrelandStairs were a bit narrow and steep for carrying cases up two flights, maybe this should be added on information as I would not have booked as I use a crutch and the ladies travelling also have disabilities. I felt it was a bit much having to pay for parking on top of the bed rates, as its only a very narrow drive.
The room was grand, clean, beds comfortable, Owner greet us and was nice.

CanadaThere was an odor coming from the bathroom. The water pressure was weak and the water in the shower did not drain properly. It was difficult to bring all of our luggage up to the 3rd floor with no elevator. No assistance was offered.
The room was spacious enough for all of our luggage and room to walk around. The overall cleanliness was good. Lovely view.

RomaniaThe shower head was small and the water pressure was very low, it was hard to take a good shower because it was fixed in the wall and you couldn’t just take it and use it however you would prefer. That could be uncomfortable for someone who is too tall or too short. Sounds/noise/voices from the main hall downstairs could be heard really well while we were in our room. The walls don’t really isolate the sound that well and you could hear everything. Thankfully it wasn’t too much of a problem, just a slight inconvenience.
The bed was big and comfortable, the room was also well prepared and nice! We got lucky and got the room on the other side of the house where we wouldn’t hear the cars on the busy street, so for us it was quiet. It was very clean and they changed our towels and cleaned the room while we were away. Staff was punctual and nice and met us at exactly 4pm.

AustraliaNo cold space to store beverages etc. if I had been travelling with my friend, beds would be too close together. Squeaky floor boards made me conscious of annoying others while moving around the room. Very small mould spots in corner of shower.
View out outdoor garden area was ok. Acceptable walk to main city areas which was handy. Host stayed up extra late to accommodate my late arrival and was pleasant about it. Good size room for one. Very comfortable bed and nice crispy linen.
