Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We did not have any expectations, but if we would have, The Burren Barn would have exceeded them by miles. It is indeed a hidden gem with such nice and welcoming hosts + a super cozy, rather spacious and charming house with a lovely loft and big windows. Additionally, the house was well-equipped with whatever we needed. The local area around is simply stunning nature and perfect for hiking. The hosts had plenty of good recommendations for us on what to do and see based on our preferences. Enda drove us around by car and showed us some of The Burren with its beautiful mountains, landmarks and local pubs. We appreciated this as we got to see the area and learn more of Ireland and the local culture. Very informative indeed.

AMAZING HOUSE AMAZING VIEW AMAZING OWNERS We had so much troubles when we where in Ireland and they took great care of us… I highly recommend to stay there. The house is amazing. Well decorated. We felt like home over there. You even have a welcome box with coffee tea and drinks and the fridge was even filled up with milk orange juice and butter. They also have a wild range of leaflets of what to do around. I really do recommande a stay at the Burren barn. With my partner we are use to travel a lot and this is the first time of our life that we saw a holiday accomodation like that. Really. Also, you will find a super hiking near by! 15 min driving from there you will find a trail walk. Great spot. Thank you for everything Sinead and Enda ❤️

IrelandWe had a wonderful stay. Enda met us on arrival and both Enda and Sinead kept in touch by text throughout our stay to make sure we wanted for nothing and let us know that they were on hand if we needed anything. Nice welcome pack which meant that we had immediate provisions for the first day or two. Fabulous place and location We will definitely be back.

IrelandWe didn't like that we had to leave at the end of our stay!
The Burren Barn is a beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable place to stay in a very lovely setting. It's sparkling clean, private and very well equipped, including lots of lovely fluffy towels. We especially loved sitting upstairs in the mezzanine area enjoying the view of the Burren. The location is superb, we started each day with a walk to Lake Bunny with its crystal clear water ideal for swimming. Everything we needed was only a short drive away so we got to explore the Burren well. But the real jewels are the hosts Sinead and Enda who pulled out all the stops to make this trip (our honeymoon) very special! Their hospitality is exceptional, generous and full of fun. Don't hesitate to stay here.

United KingdomNothing. It was perfect.
The Barn has been beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated. It has everything you could ask for during a self catering stay. Enda and Sinead are the perfect hosts. They are such lovely people and are extremely helpful when providing info regarding things to see and do in the local area and further afield. They also left a lovely welcome pack. The location was a great base for our stay while we toured about some beautiful parts of Ireland. We look forward to returning again in the future. Highly recommended.

IrelandThe Barn does not have a TV but Enda set up a screen for us to be able to access TV and this was much appreciated . A bedside table in the bedroom with a bedside light for reading would be great. Really these are minor as the place is great and we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Enda and Sinead try to resolve any issues that are raised with them.
The location was great as a base for exploring the different sites in Clare. It is situated a 13 minute drive from Gort and a 25 minute drive from Ennis. We had dinner at the Field in Gort twice. Gort is convenient for shopping for essentials and has a Supervalue, Lidl and Aldi. The welcome pack at the Barn is wonderful and had everything for a great start to our stay. We also had dinner in Kinvara which is a 18 minute drive at Lenanes - the food was great. Ennis is great for a range of places to eat and has a great range of shops. The accommodation was clean, bright and had all the facilities needed for a relaxing break. It is near the Burren National park. Sinead and Enda were fab hosts and were available if needed without being intrusive. They were friendly and shared lots of information about places to see. Enda took myself and my partner to see the Dolman at sunset and it was wonderful

United KingdomIt was a lovely, quiet place but easy to reach local sites. House was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Enda and Sinead were really helpful and friendly, always making sure things were ok. Enda took us on an evening trip around the area, which he knows well. They had lots of thoughtful suggestions for places to go. We had some lovely days out and slept like logs! Food at The Field in Gort was very good. Two relaxing sunny afternoons on the beach at Flaggy Shore where the water was crystal clear. The narrow roads took a bit of getting used to as did finding road signs but that is very Irish!
