Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt was just an incredible nice stay, very remote and with a lot of attractions nearby e.g. Connemara, Lough Corrib, Galway, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher. It was a really home for one week to us. Shopping opportunities in Kilcolgan or Oranmore for having breakfast and meals at home. We arrived and were very positively surprised by finding scones and jam on the table as a welcome present. Thanks again to the very nice housekeeper especially for sending us the left behind cables to our next stay, what a service, just great.

United KingdomNothing. Everything was thoughtfully and considerably put together.
Luxurious, cosy and beautiful cottage, with comforting features, like perfect beds with delightful mattresses, plush pillows and duvet, as well as the gorgeous fireplace and sofa. The kitchen is well equipped and the host, Bill, was exceptional; he made considerate effort to offer local knowledge and advice, also on arrival provided coffee pods, fresh milk, scones and wine!

IrelandAn amazing cottage filled with character and charm. Everything you needed was at hand from kitchen to laundry to bathroom. With cosy dining /sitting room and two lovely bedrooms. And all recently refurbished to a very high standard. It had the perfect peaceful setting in the country (daffodils in full bloom outside the windows) but is very conveniently located a short drive from Galway City, so we had the best of both worlds. I have to say it was perfect, topped only by the property manager Bill who was very welcoming and helpful and went out of his way to return an important item we had inadvertently forgotten in the cottage on our departure. I can’t recommend a stay at Teresa’s Cottage enough. And myself and my family will defiantly be making a return visit. Denise Collins Schull Co Cork.

United StatesNothing.
We arrived to a warm house and kettle! The electric fire was glowing, along with ambient music with scones ready on the laid table. I was honestly in awe at the carefully curated space. From an iorn to a coffee maker to milk, butter, jam, eggs in the fridge there were so many thoughtful touches. I have recommended Teresa’s cottage to family and friends because it is such a comfortable get away in a quite area yet close to the nearest town. Beds provide a restful and dreamy sleep. It’s very special. I’m an Airbnb host in LA and this was the best stay I’ve had on Airbnb.

IsraelI can't think of a single thing.
Absolutely everything, the most exquisite cottage, immaculately kept with every single appliance and accessory one might need. The location is perfect in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood situated about half an hour from Galway. The manager Bill was so warm and helpful, on arrival he had left us all sorts of goodies like bread, scones, jam, milk, and gave us lots of tips and info.

GermanyWe loved every minute....
Lovely Cottage in a beautiful area. If you are looking for some peace that's just the right place to go to. The furnishing was chosen with care and is top of the notch. The cottage is very clean and you can find everything that you could possibly need during your stay - even a washing machine and a dryer, Bill was a real highlight as well ;-) He was always in a good mood and very helpful. We were absolutely delighted to find a ready laid table with scones and a bottle of wine upon our arrival. We were lucky with the weather and had breakfast in the lovely garden every morning. We are looking forward to come back as the cottage is an ideal location for trips within Clare, Galway and Connemara. Be prepared, Bill ;-)

IrelandAbsolutely nothing. Teresa's Cottage is a must visit.
Teresa's Cottage is an absolute gem. Brand new and modern with top notch facilities, and yet it is still so cosy and holds so much character. Bill was so accommodating, making sure the place was all set up for our arrival late on Friday. He had some milk, scones and wine waiting for us which was such a lovely touch. The place was spotless and had all the facilities you would need for a longer stay (washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, oven, hob, etc). Fantastic location also, we were able to visit both the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands as it was quite central between the two. Couldn't recommend this place more - we'll definitely be back.
