The distance from the city centre. It's not a problem if you like to walk or can take a 9-minute bus.

My partner and I stayed at this B&B for 2 nights on a weekend in April 2024. We would highly recommend it. Although it is a 40-minute walk (or 7-minute drive) to the city centre, the B&B is on the more budget-friendly side given the ever-increasing cost of accommodation in Galway and Ireland, located off the main road in a quiet residential area and there are some shops, food places and a petrol station around the corner. The bus stop is only 5 minutes walk away. Our host Orla was very courteous, approachable and accommodating. On Saturday morning, she even offered and gave us a lift in her car to the city centre for our Cliffs of Moher tour. The breakfast was wholesome, with plenty of options from a full Irish to cereal, fruit and yogurt to cater for dietary requirements. The room was spacious, and clean, had a big wardrobe, free Wi-Fi, a kettle, tea and coffee, some biscuits, a hair-dryer and TV. One thing which stood out for us was how welcoming host Orla and her family were; she had her two little grandchildren over and you could see from their excited reactions through the window when we approached the door for the first time, that Orla and her family really warm to guests and make them feel valued and welcome. We would recommend a stay here for a future trip to Galway.

I loved everything about my stay. The hosts Orla and Mike were very welcoming and so helpful ! The room was nicely decorated and very clean, with all amenities. The house is in a very quiet area which was really appreciated.

Warm welcome, very delicious breakfast. Very helpful owners, who dropped us off at the ferry to Aran islands, even though the bus stop is nearby. The room had a tiny bathroom, but this was okay for us. We enjoyed our stay at Tara lodge!

Orla was such a welcoming host! The breakfast each morning was amazing with lots of options and generous servings. The room was cozy, quiet, and comfortable. Orla and Michael also drove me to my tour stop both mornings and were available for any questions I had. I highly recommend this BnB!

There was nothing I didn't like. My journey this time was for a friend in the hospital, but I do travel to Galway sometimes for golf, and I would highly recommend Tara Lodge

This is clearly a much loved family home and long established business. The home is warm, welcoming and comfortable. On arrival, I wasnt too enamoured with a front facing room ( my personal preference is always the back) and this was immediately rectified, with what Im sure, was some inconvenience, and for this, I was extremely grateful. Orla is a very gracious and warm hostess. The rooms are spotless, warm and comfortable, with every convenience provided. My room, despire admittedly, some initial reservations, was lovely and quiet too, late at night. Breakfast is expertly and freshly prepared, abundant, and beautifully presented. Within walking distance of good bar food While there IS a siiting room available to guests, I felt I might intrude on what was clearly family time on my first evening, and as someone who travels very frequently for work, and who makes a pount of staying in a mix of accomodations, I did miss the opportunity to spend some downtime outside of my room, which is more commonly afforded with hotel stays, I suppose. I would HIGHLY recommend Tara Lodge for a Galway stay, and will undoubtedly be returning myself. Thank you kindly Orla.
