Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesBetter instructions on how to make sure clothes washed actually dried. We read the instructions, but we could not figure it out. The US does not really use combo washer/dryers. More space to put essentials in the bathroom other than the sink. Better instructions re: trash/recycling, was not clear.
Lovely apartment. Beautiful view. Location was excellent and we felt very safe there.

United StatesNot well stocked and check-in process overcomplicated (the management helped us out but was a bit frustrating at the end of a travel day). Bring your own clothes washing powder, coffee pods (the tiny espresso ones). Dryer was loud while trying to sleep (but we were glad to have it, just crank up your white noise)
The view, location and facilities, washer-dryer. Air-conditioning! The restaurants and pubs right behind the apartment, eat there then taxi to The Latin quarter (Quay Street) for shopping music and pubs!

United StatesThe laundry facility was quite the challenge. The one-size-fits-all concept did not work for us. The machine washed clothing, but did not dry them. A separate washer and dryer would make more sense. Directions were left, but they wouldn’t work for us. We ended up taking our laundry to a professional laundrette.
I liked the cleanliness and location. There was plenty of room to spread out in the apartment. The Shoreline Apartments was an easy walk to restaurants, grocery, and bars. The kitchen had all that was required to make a meal and safely store leftovers. And the view was beautiful.

The place feels new and clean. We were nervous about check-in as we had never done this type before. The main street out the back is lively but not noisy. If we return we will book an apartment on an upper floor ( better view) and stay for longer.

Facility brilliant! Terrific location! The area had plenty of quaint pubs and cafe/eateries. Overlooked the harbour of Galway which was beautiful!

We had a wonderful apartment that was clean and had a beautiful view of the promenade and water. The property was secure, easy to check in to, and was conveniently located. We walked all over and loved it.

United StatesI had a hard time figuring out how to ck in especially with unreliable internet access while traveling. We were very relieved when someone finally answered the phone number and met us...along with other people trying as well.
It was near good restaurants, and the promenade/beach. It was beautiful and roomy for 4 people with 2 nice bedrooms. One had its own bathroom, and there was a large second bathroom with a tub. We could also walk to downtown Galway for the day. Also, someone met us and gave us help and gave helpful directions .

IrelandOne very minor issue, when washing up the water kept draining from the kitchen sink as the plug didn't stop it. Only an issue for us as we needed to wash baby's bottles.
Second time staying here and it was another excellent stay. Beautiful first floor apartment with fab view of the Prom, very clean and had everything we needed for our young family. We love the location, as it has everything to entertain the kids in easy access.
