Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNo water to drink!!! No telly!! No bath robes!! No beer!! And cold at night!!!!! But because of it sitting on the river, its like camping or like cabinin woods feeling, it gets away with the problems because of views, Owner is very nice to!!! Staff nice.
A real honest review, its the only one sitting on the river, right on the river, the views are from your bedroom and lobby area, this really is the star about this place, we had no telly in the room, no fridge, no bath robes, and to my surprise no water to drink!!! But beautiful views, good breakfast.

IrelandI won't say it was a bad thing but there was no breakfast items that I could get myself like other accommodation. Still a good selection on the menu.
Location was ideal as was attending a concert in the INEC just down the road. Also a short walk into town.

The staff were lovely - especially the woman who was there when we checked in, Nadia was her name I think.

IrelandUnfortunately , we didn't get a room with a view but the view from the communal lounge and breakfast room were wonderful!
The staff at Killarney View House B&B were so friendly and helpful at all times. The location was excellent. Only a couple hundred meters from the Gleneagle INEC arena where we went to a gig one night. It was so close to the Killarney National Park. Staff were super helpful in recommending places to go.

United KingdomIt was usually quite cold/damp coming into the room at the end of the day. We were out walking in the rain, and it took over a day for slightly damp clothes to dry.
Mary was really welcoming and friendly, and it felt like nothing was too much. I can imagine that without the covid-19 restrictions, the facilities would have been amazing - due to the restrictions, there were none of the usual in-room kettle, tea, coffee etc, and no shampoo etc. There was a real fire in the lounge every night waiting for us to come back to, and the breakfasts were delicious (and huge!).

United KingdomRooms on photos looks better than in reality. The house needs major renovation, all furnitures are very old, in room was smell of old stuff. The mattress was used and it creaked with every movement. There were sliding doors between the bathroom and the room that still had gaps so large that you could put your hands in them when closed. I think the price is too high.
My husband liked traditional Irish breakfast, pancakes were good as well. . The house has good location, very close to restaurants and shops. Stuff was very friendly and helpful.

IrelandWe stayed in a room not pictured on Booking.com, so be mindful of your expectation is this respect while looking through the photos. The shower, approx 60x60cm/2ft x 2ft, was so small it was difficult to wash, and there is nowhere to place your shampoo/bodywash. There was an unpleasant old/damp-type smell throughout the premises. The room had no river view and road noise at night was unavoidable as the windows needed to stay opened, as the heating, which could not be turned down/off, was running (we stayed in late June). Like most other reviewers, we found both beds uncomfortable, with broken springs and the mattress not supporting your body. Also, the sign outside the premises states that the rooms are newly renovated: they are not, at least not all, rendering this statement misleading. In summation, I would be embarrassed to introduce someone to this room, and if resting in comfort and the end of your day is important, look elsewhere.
The location is pretty good, a twenty minute stroll to the town centre.
