Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property was an excellent place for us to stay. Our host Ronnie was extraordinary. He was welcoming, very knowledgeable about the area, and he supplied us with maps and a plan of how we could spend our time, which were very useful. Our room was cosy and comfortable. The property was impressive and well maintained. A big thumbs up.

United KingdomIt’s not waking distance from the centre of Galway so you would need a car. It’s a ten minute drive. More towels in the bathroom would be a distinct bonus.
Lovely, well appointed cottage, inside and out. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a heavenly bed! The host was warm, welcoming and gave us lots of tips on the things to do and see around Galway. All in all, it exceeded our expectations and I don’t think I’d stay anywhere else in Galway

Twice Ronnie provided us with a packed lunch. He also gave us lots of advice on where to visit. Will definitely stay here again. Amazing.

During my family’s recent trip to Galway, we were fortunate to stay at Ronnie’s place in Drum East Rahoon. We greatly enjoyed our spacious rooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds, and the cozy communal space downstairs. The beautiful surrounding countryside was an added bonus. We experienced car trouble during our trip, and Ronnie helped us find assistance swiftly. In addition, he offered us suggestions for visiting nearby Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Omey Beach, Clifden and other locations. Our teenage boys especially enjoyed our time at Omey Beach! It’s beautiful and fun for exploring. We would definitely recommend Drum East Rahoon to travelers in the Galway area. The warm Irish hospitality we experienced there can’t be beat!

IcelandThe only thing we disliked was that the bathtub in our room didn't work.
Our stay in the Stone Cottage was exceptional because the location was nice, the room was excellent, and the overall experience was great. The cottage owner was very friendly and helped us by driving us to Galway city centre. He also gave us an apple pie with ice cream on our arrival, as well as recommendations for the top attractions in Galway.

NetherlandsDefinetly the best BnB we have ever stayed in! We felt very welcomed and looked after during our stay. We were greeted by the Host Ronnie who gave us home made apple pie on arrival and gave us a lot of local knowledge about the area. The place was very clean and cosy as well as being located in the countryside but close to the city. Breakfast was great with a nicely set table with cereals, croissants and coffee perfect for starting the day. We will definetly be back to stay next time we are in Galway.

IrelandNothing to improve on here! I usually like to stay in nice hotels but the room was nicer compared to some of the 4 star hotels in the area!
Location was perfect for me - a lovely, rural location and a very tranquil environment, yet only 10 minutes drive to Salthill and 10 minutes to Galway city. I loved the little boreens, stone walls and fields around the area. A glimpse into vanishing Ireland. The house was beautiful, warm and spotlessly clean. There was a lovely feel to it overall and Ronnie was the perfect host. I felt welcomed and relaxed and 'at home' instantly. You will need a car as it is in the beautiful countryside, but that was perfect for my stay.

Ronnie the host was exceptional in every way. He provided a substantial continental breakfast to get the day off to a good start. With his knowledge of the surrounding areas he is able to give advice on the best sights to visit. He passes on his recommendations for good restaurants and coffee shops and most of all anything you want to know Ronnie will help you. This includes offering you transportation if you wanted to enjoy a drink while dining.
