Didn't like the wait on our room being ready partially my own fault for arriving so early. We arrived at about 11 am was told our room wasnt ready which was fair enough so we went for a walk into the town centre and done some shopping arrived back at hotel about 2.30 room still wasn't ready,girl at reception could apologise enough got into our room at about 3.30.

Good location for everything we needed. Rooms where excellent. Carparking was secure.

We had rang ahead to see if they could offer gluten free dinner menu items and the staff said that the chef would be able to make us something. Unfortunately when we got there and asked for this the chef said they could not make anything for us which was disappointing but luckily there were many options for eating out in the area. Breakfast was a buffet with gluten free bread available so no issues there. Other than this the hotel can't be faulted and we would stay again despite this but just to be aware if you have such dietary requirements.

Very friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. The hotel is in an amazing location and the rooms are gorgeous and spotless. Overall we were incredibly happy with our stay there.

The Alex was a fantastic hotel. It was walking distance from great shopping, tourist attractions, and pubs without feeling too hectic. They also had an easy parking option for those with rental cars.

The price was very high for one night. Much higher than the week before. Also I had a simple order for breakfast and it was very slow to come - but perfect when it arrived.

Beautiful room - food very good. I was with a group for dinner and drinks and the staff were wonderful.

Parking instructions could be simplified

Booked room as hotel in easy walking distance to national maternity hospital where I was providing staff training and support. Beautiful room, friendly staff, great breakfast and location perfect for my needs

I honestly have no complaints!

Super location. Near some great restaurants and pubs. Close to art gallery. Beds were so comfortable that I slept 11 hours the first night. Staff were lovely and helpful. Very quiet on our floor. Good Irish breakfast and good coffee. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. I will recommend it all my friends.

The only thing I would suggest is thicker toilet roll, I really don’t like flimsy tissue, it’s a small touch but makes a difference

The hotel was lovely in a great location. We went early to drop our bags as it was a few hours until check-in. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was designed beautifully. When we returned later, we heard we’d been selected as guest of the day! So we had some lovely treats left in our room & other perks. Such a nice touch and made my little boy so happy

No drinking glasses in the room other than in the bathroom. Even if a room doesn’t have a mini bar guests need glasses to drink out of (that are not from the bathroom). Coffee cups in the room weren’t cleaned properly each day. No bottle opener.

There was a distinct smell off the duvet cover which i didn't like.. It was like when you leave washed clothes too long in the washing machine before drying them,
