We didn’t like having to be confined to our room for food and not having anywhere to sit and chat. Especially as we had met up with friends who stayed there too. There is an offer for a cooked breakfast at an extra cost but you would have to have it in your bedroom- we didn’t fancy that!

We were disappointed there was no guest area to sit or eat so we had to eat breakfast in our room. The “continental breakfast” provided was unimaginative- it was ok but could have been much better.

The continental breakfast was provided with refrigerated food and drink aplenty, including lox, and an in-room table and coffee/ tea supply. We could dine in peace and when we chose to. We enjoyed this option.

Spacious, clean, comfortable and with everything you need and many homely touches! The owner has thought of everything. Cong village is about a 35 minute walk that can take you via the beautiful Cong woods, across the river that has the monks fishing house (and abbey nearby) and with a view to Ashford castle. We found five great bars in the small and picturesque village, live music in one, so had a very enjoyable Saturday night. Blakehill house was absolutely perfect for our short break to enjoy beautiful Cong.

After the best nights sleep in the most comfortable bed, we had a delicious and bountiful Irish breakfast. The location is perfect, so tranquil and peaceful, and the rooms so elegant. Fantastic value for money and the loviest of welcoming hosts. Couldn't recommend it more if travelling in the area. I would advise to book early as these rooms are snatched up and you won't get a nicer place than Blakeview House.

Google maps takes you to a different house. Apparrently the host sent us the EIRE code, but due to signal problems I only got it that evening. We are also not fans of Halloween and the house was made up for that, but that is my own personal preference and I cannot reallt fault the host for it.

The room was spacious. The breakfast view at the window was nice. Breakfast is served in your room and the condiments for coffee etc was more than enough. The host is not stingy at all, and that in itsself is very refreshing. The host is friendly and even though she was not there when we checked in, she knocked on our door later in the evening to introduce herself. She is really friendly and we had a great stay even though it was short.

Location was peaceful and quiet. Huge bathroom with shower and spa bath which was a nice experience. Breakfast was more than adequate with cereals, fruit, bread and cheese, milk and juice. Only instant coffee but we found a nice coffee shop in Cong!

There was nothing I did not like. Lovely hosts. The house is stunning. My room was so elegant and comfortable, I was only on a quick visit, but I have booked a return in two weeks.

Breakfast was delicious and I sat at the window in my room to have it. Such an idyllic setting and practically 5 mins drive or 15 minutes to stroll in to the village.
