Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything here was lovely and was a perfect location to explore Galway by walking or by car as we had easy parking. The home was beautiful and extremely clean, very fresh. Ciara is a lovely and amazing host, who truly cares about each guest. She went out of her way to ensure my mom and I were comfortable and welcomed. Breakfast was really good and fresh. I highly recommend this stay due to host and hospitality, cleanliness, comfortability, and great location. Lots of family history in the B+B who care about your experience, much better than a hotel. Would have loved to stay longer

IndiaIt's a lovely B&B, great location just a few hundred meters away from all the bustle ensuring all the galway experience but a great spot to sleep as well. The owner Kiara was particularly helpful not only with recommendations but also offering to help us with reservations. Wish this multi generational property all the best. They are real.

New ZealandWe loved everything about this property.
Adare Guesthouse was fabulous! The host Kiri was so friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotlessly clean, the location is amazing (just a five minute walk to the centre of town), there is parking right outside, the rooms are lovely, the showers are great, and the breakfast was outstanding! We loved staying at Adare guest house, it was perfect for our needs.

United StatesThe floors were creaky so I could really hear the person staying above me walk around. The water in the shower only stayed hot for a couple minutes. But honestly not much to complain about!
Great location, walkable to the Latin Quarter but not in a loud area at all. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Every room had its own bathroom and seemed clean. There is so air conditioner but the windows opened. The breakfast was tasty and there were good options!

United StatesStaying here was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. The location was perfect - a quiet neighborhood but a short walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The best part was the host family. What lovely people! So kind and welcoming - we really enjoyed chatting with them. We would absolutely stay here again.

United StatesThe shower water pressure was very low. I should have said something to owner sooner than I did (let her know upon departure) as she might have been able to do something about it. I guess I just accepted a low-pressure shower because everyting else was fine.

United StatesMy only small complaint was about poor communication - e.g. we couldn't find instructions in the room, and it wasn't made clear to us when we arrived how to get in touch with the hosts. We had a small problem - I think it was with the heating - and we ended up just knocking on the kitchen door. Another example - we weren't told that we were supposed to help ourselves to tea at breakfast instead of waiting to order it and have it delivered to the table, which took a long time (I discovered on our last day that the hot water urn and teabags were hidden at the back of the counter). We never received any communication from the hosts themselves at all, which is pretty unusual. If this happens anywhere else, I'll remember to find the phone number by looking back at the confirmation email from Booking.com, but I didn't think of it this time.
It was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were good.
