Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI couldn't open the bedroom door fully because it hits the bed which was a bit of a squash to get dressed etc in there. I think each room should have it's own shower matt with a shared shower, it's not nice sharing hygene objects with unknown people.

United KingdomRoom 1 - 13 St Patricks Avenue from 11 to 13th of May Noise: you can hear everything from the top floor every step they take, when they drop and open their lugagge or get out of bed. Everything. On Saturday some guests let in external people into the leaving room, around 2am we were woken up by loud drunken "conversations" we waited for them to disperse on their own but after 1h of getting louder my husband asked them to please quiet down. Half of them left and after 30 mins approx the rest went upstairs around 4am it was all quiet. There was no toilet paper left as during that time of noise the external people was also in and out fo thr bathroom one after thr other. The common areas the next day were messed up. Dirty dishes and take away boxes everywhere. We tidied up a bit to prepare a coffee and left at 9am for a day tour. Upon our return the flat was spotless again. There is a small open area with 2 chairs outside of room 1. We had to keep the curtain and the window closed as when we were inside anyone going to this spot will be directly looking into the room or the smoke could come in. It was another source of noise as guests will be popping down to smoke or continue their after hours convos there. So no much rest either. Check in: I informed of my check in at 15:00 via de app. I received a message saying my request is confirmed. As soon as we landed around 12 and 13pm I received 2 calls that I could not answer and they are classifed as international calls by my provider costing £2 to connect thr call and then £1,79 per minute. Then I received a message on the app asking to call them back on the landline. I sent 2 messages and 1 mail explaining why I couldnt do it. To please message me on the app or provide with a number for a whatsapp call. No answer to these. We arrived at 15:00....wondering around the area for a while no message or instructions to check in.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaRoom is so small, that you cannot put your luggage if you come with a big one, there is no space at all. We were lucky that we came with carry on, and still it was hard. Bed is very small and uncomfortable if two people sleep here, this room is for one person maximum, and for a short stay only. One bathroom is not enough for so many rooms.
Location of this property is fantastic, right in the city centre. Kitchen was fully equipped.

Czech Republic1) wifi did not work, 2) In the apartment was very cold - only 13C. The heater was off when we arrived. We turned it on, but till the second day the temperature was still below 20C. The owner appologized and explained, that it was because of we booked in short notice. In fact we booked 1day before and in my point of view, there was enough time to at least turn it on to start heating. Otherwise the apartment was Very nice. I recommend to other guests to ask during booking to turn on the heater and make sure the WiFi will work.
Good equipment, in the center, close to Bus.

ChinaThe room is small and you have to go to bed as soon as you open the door.Sharing the bathroom is not convenient either. There was no hot shower on the first night of our stay, and it took a long time to get it done on the phone.
The room was centrally located.Very close to the train station.Nearby eating and drinking bars. There is a kitchen to cook.

United StatesHowever, my room (room1 on the street) was INCREDIBLY noisy! From shouting and broken bottles on the street, a party across the road, and also the other people staying in the house. The doors and walls were thin, and the window single glazed, so it was a noisy night. Also, the only reflective surface in the whole house was in the bathroom, so if you wanted to do your hair or makeup, you might have 6 people waiting for the loo or the shower. A cheap mirror in each room would go a long way!
This was listed as the entire apartment. It definitely wasn't. There were 5 or 6 other people staying there, with which I shared one bathroom. It was still a good deal though- the location couldn't be more central, the price was good, and it was very clean.

GermanyThere was no way to lock the SHARED bathroom. So you just had to hope that nobody would enter while you are naked and showering. The room was miniscule. You practically had to jump on the bed if there were (closed) suitcases in the room. Also - our window was so high up that we couldn’t open it and the room was so incredibly hot… You could also hear everything that the other guests did - in our case: party, throw up and jump around in the middle of the night
The location was absolutely perfect.

United Kingdomaccessing the keys to the property was a bit of a faff but it all worked out fine
room was of a good size and was very clean . Bathroom was clean and adequate for our needs. There was also a large kitchen where you could cook your own food and a nice dining space to eat it in. Galway is one of the more expensive towns to stay in but this offered good value deal and the facilities were very good given the relatively low price. Would stay again!
