Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryOnly thing that we heard neighbours upstairs above us and also in the morning already at 7am cleaning started. It wasn't a big issue but most probably next time I would choose a room either upstairs or far from others.
We really liked the villa. The design was very nice and also the staff was super friendly. The pool has a nice view and it's next to ricefields. Breakfast was good. We also got drinks on arrival. Big positive that they are dog friendly and we were able to bring our dog with us. It's a bit far from downtown Ubud but this wasn't an issue as we came by car.

NetherlandsThe bathrooms are so pretty but you can basically only use the shower because of low water pressure. They are warm after running about 5 minutes. We tried to fill a bath tub. One cannot be closed and they fill so slowly it is cold halfway ttrough. When asked the staff they said they cannot really be used. In general you can tell tourism has been down and the villa is in need of a lot of small repairs to fly screens and taps etc. Bathroom windows do not give a lot of privacy
This villa is situated beautifully in the middle of the jungle. Tropical garden and pool are brilliant. Comfy beds. Large clean rooms. Views are stunning. Photos are reliable. The kitchen and dining area are seperate from the main house and also used by staff. There are casebos at the pool and garden. The villa is on the first floor and there is another one below. Its only 20 min to Ubud and easy to organise a scooter or taxi. Staff is very helpfull and organised tours on request. Nice breakfast with banana pancakes and fresh fruits. Staff will help with any other request you may have. They made every effort to cater for our glutenfree son.

IndonesiaEverything was perfect except for the cleanliness. It was clear that the bedsheets and blankets were unwashed prior to our arrival. It was dusty. We had trouble sleeping in all of the three bedrooms. The plumbings were a bit outdated and can be improved. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect stay.
This place is perfect except for the cleanliness. We love the view, design and the surrouding area. The semi-outdoor living room was beautiful. It is a perfect place for a holiday with friends and family. The staffs were helpful and sweet - even the dog and cat were friendly.

AustriaOur stay on the second floor of this hotel was truly impressive and ranks among my best hotel experiences to date. The view from our balcony was breathtaking, and having a bathtub that led directly to the wilderness and the rice fields was a genuine highlight. It felt like a true adventure in the midst of nature. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Our stay in this hotel was a genuine jungle experience and left us truly amazed.

United StatesDealing with the owner who is not present and does not empower the manager. It is challenging to manage the property when in another continent and not allowing the on-site manager to make decisions.
Excellent on-site manager, Wayan!

IndonesiaBig problem with the shower, there was almost no hot water. It was impossible to take a bath - the bath was leaking. The bed linen was damp and smelled bad. We dried all the pillows and all the bedding ourselves in the sun!!! we couldn't sleep there because of that and we had to move to another place from here. There were ants everywhere. I am very outraged by this state of the room - it spoiled our mood and rest. Instead of rest, when we arrived, we got a lot of problems, it's terrible!
