Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaNothing! Only wish we could have stayed longer. WiFi was a bit patchy our first night there, but that got resolved fairly quickly.
Beautiful and comfortable little villa hidden in some quaint by-streets away from the hustle and traffic of central Ubud, yet still walking distance to several restaurants and cafes. Stunning little pool, well done up bedroom and chilling area and a gorgeous spacious bathroom and separate toilet area. Everything was wonderfully clean. There was plentiful hot water in the shower, air conditioning worked well, bed was super comfortable and there was a water dispenser where we could refill our water bottle whenever we wanted. Overall a very luxurious stay. When we arrived, we were greeted with a delicious welcome drink at Bubu Warung (owned by the same people who own Ulun Mertha) and were then taken to the villa along with our luggage on scooter by Yanwas and the very sweet and friendly lady (whose name I missed). Unfortunately we missed having breakfast here as we had very early starts every morning, but the breakfast menu looked good too. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and quintessential Ubud vacation!

ItalyVilla Ulun Mertha is a small piece of Paradise few minutes from Ubud. The place is beautiful, very comfortable and calm, in typical balinese style. Breakfast is super good and freshly cooked, they provide everything you need, so kind! The water dispenser is a big plus! Villa ulun mertha is greatly suggested if you want to rest but also to enjoy Ubud and surroundings. Super!

AustraliaNo complaints. All perfect
Absolutely beautiful. True to the photos. The staff were wonderful and helpful. Having a full-size fridge and drinking water dispensers with cold and hot water was a bonus saved buying water daily. Breakfast cooked and delivered was fantastic. The scooter ride in was so much fun. We decided to do a tour for our last day we just asked and it was organised for us without any problems. Definitely highly recommend

AustraliaNothing to complain about.
Beautiful & clean. Comfortable bed & pillows. Lovely clean refacing pool. Amazing breakfast served daily. Our favourite was the vegetable omelette. Beautiful staff, very accomodating & helpful. We loved the walk out to the Main Street each morning. Lots of choice of places to eat and drink along the way, laundry, mini supermarket & spas. Didn’t have to leave unless we went on a tour.

CroatiaEverything was great! Villa is amazing and very clean. Staff was doing the cleaning everyday while we were out. The pool is great as well as the garden. YanWas is super friendly and he was there for us if we needed anything. I also got some kind of a Bali Belly and he brought me coconut water and rice for breakfast. Regarding breakfast, it was very tasty and they have a planty of choice. We were scared of the road that leads to Villa, but we rented a scooter and there was no problem at all. YanWas and the lady helped us with our luggage, so don’t worry about that.

SingaporeThe location of the villa is 7 minutes walking distance to the next road accessible by cars. It is a nice trail though, along rice fields and private houses. For us it was fun and no problem. We ordered our Grab transportation at halfway to have the car waiting at the pick-up point (main road)
The villa is a fantastic place to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Ubud. Great swimming pool, everything is in an excellent condition, the furniture, bathrooms, kitchen all neat. The place is very quiet and cozy, the staff is friendly and supportive. In the morning they deliver a delicious breakfast directly to the villa. We also loved the garden, very well maintained with lush greenery. Thumbs up for this place.

AustraliaThe Villa was further from the main rd than advertised definately a 10 minute walk. An outdoor ceiling fan would have been wonderful. Unfortunately there is a lot of construction going on around the villa and the rice paddies are disappearing.
The villa was very clean, and private and had the authentic balinese style Lovely pool great breakfast everyday. Friendly and very helpful hosts we couldn't have asked for more.

AustraliaNothing.
Ulun Mertha completely exceeded our expectations. It was clean, spacious and had an amazing pool, even down to small details such as fresh flowers were appreciated. The breakfast was excellent, and they even made sure that we had food items provided for Nyepi (silent day) already in the fridge for us to use. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area and there were great restaurants only a short walk away. Yanwas and Wayan were fantastic and communication with them was prompt. We stayed for 6 nights and wished it was longer; it was well worth the price and we will definitely book another stay in the future.

AustraliaThe staff were so friendly and helpful. The driver Wayan was able to take us on personalised day trips. You could order takeaway and massage services directly to the property which was amazing and relaxing. Although it was a walk from car accessible roads, this was through pedestrian/motorbike streets lined by restaurants/cafes and other villas so was a nice, safe and easy walk.

United StatesWe had a wonderful month stay in the villa. It was beautiful and clean and the landscaping and pool were amazing. The host Yanwas was super sweet and brought a delicious and big breakfast everyday. You are surrounded by greenery on the property and the sounds of crickets, frogs, birds etc from the semi-rural surroundings, it was lovely. The villa is not in the center of Ubud, but we liked being further out in a more peaceful place. It was located in some rice fields, but near many small shops and restaurants, and you can arrange transportation from the hosts. Since we like to walk we would explore the area on foot and then take a taxi to Ubud from the main road.

SloveniaThere were quite a few little lizards that were roaming around the porch, but luckily there were none inside. We understood were we were so we didn’t made a big deal out of this, but still we could appreciate if there were less of them.
A really nice private villa on the outskirts of Ubud surrounded by nature and other private villas. It has really nice outdoor area that is very well maintained with a nice refreshing pool. Nice, spacious bathroom with a nice big bathtub. Our host Wayan was really nice and helpful and also the breakfast was always good and on time.

PolandDuring my “Bali trip” I’ve stayed in several villas that one could call luxurious, but Villa Ulun Mertha was without any doubts the most outstanding among all of them and it definitely set a new level of quality standards when it comes to service and comfort. The garden surrounding the private pool is like from a fairytale, both during the day and the nighttime. But what really made it so special was the service ( here special thanks to Mr. Yanwas, who was always there when needed). As friendly and helpful as it gets without being “too much” at the same time. The location is a bit out of town, but it’s only for ones benefit. At night the only thing you hear are the geckos. And you get into town in 5 minutes by grab or gojek ( or by calling Mr. Yanwas) for a ridiculously low cost, so no need to rent a scooter. I would recommend Villa Ulun Mertha to anyone looking for a superb stay in Ubud!
