Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaThe access to the Villa through public rooms and the path is dark during night. The amenities in the bathroom limited, only providing shower gel.
The best view and next to the beach. Very convinience and happy for the kids to play on the beach. It's comfort and modern villa, also near to restos within walking distance.

AustraliaIt was hard to clarify if the two bedroom had the small pool or if it was the one bedroom. Either way there was a communal pool right at the front door which was fantastic!
Great villa that had everything required in an amazing location right on the beach.

IndonesiaProperty is advertised as a luxury property. I live in Bali and have stayed more than 40 times in Candidasa at many different properties. This was comfortable but far from a luxury property. Room snacks are ridiculously priced for Indonesia. More like Australian hotel prices compared to other Indonesian luxury properties 2 x times strangers just wandered into the villa despite consistently locking the exterior doors. For some reason staff left the external doors open. Signage is a problem....The complex uses another name. Parking is 1 car bay for the entire complex. There is no private pool for tge 2 bed Villa.

SingaporeOwner is unempathetic, unreasonable and unprofessional. The place may look nice but it is deceiving. We had the 2 bedroom "luxury" villa BUT one bedroom has an attached toilet without ventilation. It is a makeshift in the room without a door and very near to the bed. This was of course not shown in any of the photos on the website. The electricity kept tripping on our second last day (not sure if this was due to the rain) and we didn't sleep well as we had to wake up to turn it back on for the fan and air-con. There was also water leakage. We asked owner for a late check out to 12pm on a Sunday (check out is 11am), owner only gave us to 11.30am. We have used their contact for a massage that was arranged by housekeeper on the first day. However, the massage was double the price outside and the massage wasn't good. I have arranged for a massage from outside and asked housekeeper for the table on our last day before we check out but at last minute, owner messaged me and told us that she doesn't allow this and this is what she said (owner is Australian lady) - "Poor people coming into our villas is not safe for you and things also go missing." I've explained to her that we will monitor these ladies who come to do massage and hair braiding. So, our last day didn't end well. It was also raining heavily and hence why I wanted to get the ladies to come to our place for the massage. Also, my husband and daughter were sick with high fever, so I wanted to still to be able to monitor them at the villa while doing the massage. When I highlighted to owner that she is not being flexible, she said that I am rude and that she will change the checkout time to 11am back. She also said that she doesn't control the rains. She was sarcastic and unprofessional. This is not how I expected my stay at her expensive villa to be. We had to bear the electricity issue which is something she can control and work on.
beach access but do note that the beach is not clean and strong currents in this part of Bali.

AustraliaOpen ceiling bathroom in one of the rooms with a curtain to cover was not to our appeal but it certainly didn't stop us enjoying our stay.
We stayed in the 2 Bedroom villa and it was gorgeous! Right on the beach. Generous sized rooms/ beds are comfy each with own bathroom, has a kitchen with all amenities, dining table, lounge/tv..Has outside shower to cool off, beanbags to sit and watch the ocean, fisherman/boats and the day go by was lovely and relaxing. Short walk to restaurants and markets.

United StatesThere was definite lack of privacy. There is a public access road to the beach that runs along one side of the villa and there is a door that leads out onto that road. The door is locked, but around 10pm someone tried to open the door from the outside and continued to rattle the handle and laugh. Needless to say, I was quite startled and had trouble sleeping after that happened. Lights kept shining into the kitchen window. There were definitely people riding motorbikes down to the end of the access road and parking them near the villa to hang out, play music, and talk in that area (pictured) well after 11pm. There was a large gathering of people performing a ceremony (pictured) on the shore under my window and fisherman along the stoned T walkway out into the water well after sunset and into dinner and cocktail time on a Saturday night. Curtains would’ve been so helpful for privacy and many people marveled at the busty lamp that I had illuminated and quickly turned off when I realized people were gathering to see it. It was noisy with the front door open to keep cool. The pool area (pictured) can be accessed by anyone and I saw more than 10 non-guests entering and leaving the area either to use the table and chairs or to access the sea via the steps between Sea Spray Villas. The homestay (Catra - tiled at the bottom of the pool) was empty so I knew they weren’t SSV guests. There is only a short plastic gated entrance to the villa and it offers little privacy or security if the doors of the villa are open. I locked eyes two men staring into the villa and it made me a bit uncomfortable. The huge picture windows offer fabulous views of the sea, but there are no curtains to block sun, heat or prying eyes. There was a heavy & bulky folded privacy “screen” that was more cumbersome than useful. There is no AC in the family/living/seating room.
I was given a lovely handmade flower lei by Ibu Suri, the villa caretaker, upon check-in. There is a two bedroom villa and a one bedroom villa separated by the shared (villas & Catra homestay) pool area. I stayed in the two bedroom (pictured) which had comfy beds, high quality linens, fixtures, air conditioning, and en-suite bathrooms. There are privacy curtains to cover the sliding glass doors to each bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked and had a water dispenser. Note: There isn’t a TV in the two bedroom villa. There is a homestay (empty at the time) that is on the public path from the main street to the villas. Overall, I didn’t feel the villa was as luxurious or private as portrayed in the photos. Don’t forget to bring mosquito repellent.
