Would highly recommend this place. Amazing view from the balcony of the bay. Marcel, his wife and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Marcel came to rescue us when our taxi driver got lost on the way. They recommended us some great places to eat and helped us understand how best to get to our next place. Turtles in the ponds. Lovely pool too which we didn't get chance to use.

The only thing I regret is not having more time to spend in this beautiful location.

Villa Manouria is a gem. Everything gave me a sense of calm. I've never known Padang Bai in such a light. The room is comfortable, the garden is gorgeous, with a big variety of plants, there is a swimming pool. Marcel and the team were very, very helpful. You can tell Marcel has a big respect for Bali, it's people and culture. When I get the chance, I will definitely come back.

Marcel’s place is a gem! It was an unexpected highlight of our trip. Warm and helpful hosts, beautiful view, airy room. A short walk to amazing snorkelling. Perfect location - an easy walk down for dinner (we loved Martini’s, at Marcel’s suggestion), but far enough up the hill to be very peaceful.

This is a cute property set above and looking over the centre of Padangbai … one of those places where you can look down on the crowd but not be in it. The owners have tried to make things different and personable, giving you space or interacting as necessary. The smaller room that we stayed in was a bit on the squeezy side but is fine for a couple of nights. Two highlights of the place would be the views and the friendliness of the owners. Made is a great cook and we had one of her dinners – loved it and the servings were way more than we could manage. Also, do yourself a favour and make sure you request your ferry bookings through Marcel as he knows the ins and outs of the process and makes it effortless and it is cheaper than all the other options out there including direct with the ferry companies. Note that there is a long set of stairs heading up to the property from the town of padangbai and not suited for carrying suitcases. Unless you are traveling light, it would be necessary to arrive (in a vehicle) via a local back road that leads off the main road heading into padangbai. The location on the hillside provides one of the best views in this town and it is walkable to anywhere in the town. Around the corner is also one of the best beaches we went to in Bali.

We didn't mind it at all but worth bearing in mind the location is up on a hill so you'll either need a driver or to walk up some steep steps. Absolutely fine for us but others may want to plan ahead for this.

Marcel and everyone at the villa were super friendly and accommodating, the airport transfer was seamless and the driver was lovely. All in all a gorgeous stay with an amazing view and really authentic feel.

Even a Marcel and Made were very hospitable. They took us to a large ceremony and lent us sarongs and kabaja. Marcel arranged to pick us up from the airport and took us to the ferry. The view from their mountain GH is stunning, as was dinner! Lovely stay. We got even a lecture on.Balinese religion.

- There wasn't anything that I didn't like, it might be a bit hard too find if you come by car. But owners are happy to help you to get there.

- Staff is extremely helpful. - Place was above expectations, booked just 1 night as a hub to go to Gili islands but wished I had booked more nights. - 10 stars, the owner is designing an amazing pool. Would rate it a 10+ star then :-)
