Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing is the walls were quite thin between rooms so we didn’t feel like we had much privacy
Peaceful and friendly. Perfect distance from Ubud centre to feel like it was remote but close enough to get there in 15 mins

AustraliaThere is a dog there that is friendly however does bark quite loud and few chickens in the area that can be loud but nothing bad.
Very secluded and in a nice quiet area of ubud but still close enough to everything to explore. Staff were very friendly and villas very cute and tropical. The breakfast made every morning loved the Balinese pancakes and French toast.

United KingdomThe staff is distant probably because their English is not good enough but also because they don't really want to discuss with the guests. Most of the Balinese we met always tried to discuss with us, even via Google translate but the staff didn't bothered. The frustrating point was the breakfast : we had asked for it to be served at 0800am as we had a tour booked at 0830am. Nothing was ready when we arrived at 0810am. We were served when we were supposed to leave. The day after I tried another strategy and went to the kitchen to order the food. When we arrived 25mn after in the reception, nothing was ready. They had not prepared anything. After discussing with the other guests, it appears they never get the breakfast ready unless you are physically waiting at your table. Also they have a noisy and aggressive dog which is not at all reassuring with small kids.
The house is beautiful surrounded by forest and rice terraces with a good location. The swimming pool is nice too.

SpainThe place is beautiful, we stayed in old Lumbung, the place where they store the rice and it was incredible and astonishing. Quite relaxed during the whole day. Breakfast is outstanding, they have a big selection of different plates. People are friendly and helpful, they help us rent a bike to one of the local neighbours. It was an incredible experience.

LithuaniaThe villa is located quite remotely and distant from Ubud town (15 minutes with scooter). The night and morning sounds (various insects, birds, roosters, dogs, scooters) are very intense so sleeping can be troublesome. There are 3 villas in total very close to each other , so the neighbours can also affect the experience.
The owner is living next door and helped us a lot solving few private troubles we had. All staff is really friendly and helpful. The villa is nicely built, the pool is nice as well. Good breakfast, but limited variety. The villa do not offer lunch or dinner, but there are few good places to eat just few minutes away.

AustraliaThere is a dog there which occasionally bites, so you just need to avoid it and it won't bother you.
Villa Lumbung is around 6km to the north of Ubud, so if you are looking for a little oasis out of the hectic hustle and bustle of the city, then this is it. The breakfast was amazing! And the staff super sweet. Plus the pool was a lovely refreshing treat at the end of a hot day.

BelgiumA little bit noisy because it is not soundproofed so you've to be lucky with your neighbors 😊
Very quiet place but still nearby Ubud. Very easy to go to the center. Very family-friendly place with Coco and the owner who is closed. It's really like a little home. Kitchen accessible with a fridge, market nearby also. Very nice to walk around this place 😊 The breakfast is home made and fresh with a lot of choices. You can also easily refiel your bottle.

PolandAtmospheric houses in a beautiful garden. Behind the fence, a view of the rice fields. Tasty breakfasts, but you have to wait a long time (if you order for 08.00 am, they will start laying out the cutlery at 08.00 am). Grab eat doesn't often come to this location.

GermanyI really loved the breakfast and the calm atmosphere! You can choose between different varities of breakfast from menu and can also have dinner on request. Everything is organic, the owner family and the staff is veeery kind and symphatic. We already miss Coco, the beautiful dog and all the other wild animals (Geckos, etc)y. Everyday cleaning-service and always new fresh towels and linen provided. There is always fresh water for free and some soft drinks from the fridge for a small amount. Also there is a few restaurants and cafes to explore in walking distance (5-20min). Its just a beautiful quiet area (10min drive away from Ubud city.) Nyoman owns the green cooking class (traditional balinese) in Sideman. Highly Recommended!

IrelandEvery morning around 4 am, I was woken up by loud roosters crowing and motorcycles zooming by. I stayed in the room next to the pool, and it was a bit dark.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The area is nice and quiet and outside from Ubud. The owner Nyoman is very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome. The beds are comfy and the room was clean and spacious. The pool was refreshing. The best was the delicious breakfast. Its not only toast and eggs. You can choose from a little menu. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Villa Lumbung is definitly a 10/10 :) we stayed there with our 2 Kids for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The houses are clean, comfortable and the air con works perfect. The breakfast was the best we had during our whole bali vacation and the staff of Villa Lumbung is very caring and super friendly with the Kids and all other guests. Taxi to Ubud city is about a 10-15 minute drive. The view from the balkony and the risefields around made it the best stay so far in our bali vacation. Thank you very much Villa Lumbung for having us.

NetherlandsThe structures are wooden with big gaps and openings, therefore, there is no sound isolation or stopping of bugs and animals from coming in. That is a bit rough with small children waking up at 5.30 with the roosters sounding like they are in our bedroom and dogs barking really loud. Also, the wilderness of the setting makes it very difficult for a 1 year old. There are no even surfaces and nowhere to put a baby down for crawling. The place is really excellent for couples or families with older children, but is not very suitable for babies.
Traditional villa in lush nature, friendly and helpful people, incredible breakfast! Such a serene feeling and the best homemade kombucha i ever had!

Spainwe could here everything from outside because the rooms are not isolated. The dog barks a lot and the rooster make noise in the morning from 5 am to 8 am. We also had our neighbors that did a lot of noise…
The surroundings are beautiful. the bed is really comfortable. THE BREAKFAST IS AMAZING. The hosts are really helpful and kind! If you don’t mind the early rooster and dogs it is perfect!!!
