Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyGede speaks some English, his family not. But we used Google translate so it was not a real problem - we had funny moments showing each other our phones and we always ended up understanding each other!!!
Gede and his family put enormous care in every detail. The house is beautifully done, with big bed with comfortable moskito net, big bathroom, terrasse, water refiller, electric kettle for tea and coffee. The breakfast is delicious and abundant. And it's also possible to ask for dinner, there is only one option usually, but the food is local and were right to trust their kitchen, it was always yummy. But the best part is the surrounding, amazing hills of rice fields - you don't need to go to Jatiluwih and pay an entrance, here the view is even better! Scooter rental is also possible, and if you ask Gede can arrange for tours in Rice fields, Tempels or excursion in the nearby forest.

SloveniaLeaving to busy Ubud
The cottages are located in a perfect location, surrounded by the rice terraces. This location is a good escape from busy parts of Bali and a good starting point to visit Jatiluwih, Banyu Wana, Ulun Danu... This is a family owned property, they are extremely kind and provide good breakfast and dinner. The owner can organise a friendly and fun driver, thank you Roi for best day in Bali.

DenmarkThe most beautiful view from the very lovely cottage I stayed at. Fantastic local food was served at my porch The nephew of the owner. Took me on tours Walking in the ricefield. And to visit a very big local temple, which is part of his community We also visit a 700 year old tree and a chocolate factory, where I learned about the process. It was very interesting He speaks fluently English and is local from the area. We had a wonderful time and he is very friendly and easy to talk to So if I could give more than 10..I would do that So I give them the best recommendation

NetherlandsOnly 1 minor item, the step-down from sleeping area to bathroom is relatively high. A small step-up can fix this.
The view is amazing!

AustraliaThe only negative thing was the access to the hotel which is a via a very narrow, steep and winding road which is unsuitable for a car and is more suited for motorbikes. Also, the sign for the turnoff is very small and easy to miss. One suggestion I would make for the future would be to try to widen the access road a little, especially around the bends and to make a larger parking area for guests.
The breathtaking views over the rice terraces from the balcony of the room. We could sit for hours just enjoying the beautiful views and the tranquility of the location. We loved the attention to detail of the interior and exterior decor which was artistic, unique, and full of character, blending nicely with the surroundings. This was the most perfect view of rice terraces from a hotel that we have stayed in Bali so far. The owners and staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, treating the guests like family. We would definitely return in the future.

The homestay is well located at the paddy fields in Jatiluwih. Well maintained with good breakfast and delicious dinner. Especially Putu brought us to many attractions. He was very friendly and helpful. Those who love natures should stay here... Beautiful sunset at the homestay.

Loved the mountain spring water from your water vessel,no plastic water bottles needed yeah.less plastic in Bali the better there is still way too much on side of roads & everywhere need to start educating people even the small villages😩 The peacefulness is beautiful & the family.

NetherlandsThe hot water in the shower works, but we had to jank it up fully first (to maximum heat) and then lower it again — it was a little bit tricky. Plus it’s quite remote, so having a scooter is probably a must.
Beautiful fields, room and bathroom. The host family was extremely kind. We loved that we asked for dinner and that we simply got what the family was eating. No options. It was great!

United StatesThe Wifi never worked while I was there, but I also never said anything as I enjoyed being offline. My Balienese SIM card could connect though to coordinate with driver so coverage exists. Plan on bringing a book or journal just in case!
This place is a hidden gem, and I'm almost nervous to give it such a glowing review as everyone will start going! But, I want this place to be a success as the family running it are wonderful. They've thought of everything - coffee/tea station in room, chairs and table on porch, drying rack for clothes, etc. It's incredible how much is provided for the price - the views are unbeatable, the food was simple but flavorful, and you get to escape the hustle and bustle of Ubud/Canggu/tourist areas. It's rustic, but if you want a place to unplug and immerse yourself in Bali rice fields and greenery - this is it! My favorite stay in Bali by far.

United KingdomThis is a simple guesthouse run by lovely people in a spectacular setting. It’s small and not close to other amenities so perfect if you are wanting to unwind and enjoy the amazing views. The owners will help you hire a car and driver, or rent a bike so it’s easy to explore the area. My bedroom had a big comfortable bed, and a good shower room. It’s rustic and simple but very clean, and has been well thought through. Making a cup of Bali coffee and then sitting on my terrace with that view will stay in my mind. My wifi worked well. And meals were served on my terrace. A lovely couple of days.

United StatesIt was perfect for me. Maybe not for everyone who wants night life beyond nature.
This was pure harmony looking out over the rice terraces. Harmony of humans, earth and spirit. I loved listening to the sounds of frogs and birds from the lovely wooden porch and cottage. The best for getting away from all the craziness of the world. And it was very cool there too.
