We had the most amazing and exciting two-day stay at Uma Kalai! The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, and the view was absolutely stunning. We were even able to check in early, and after checking out, we had a lovely, relaxing time at the lounge and enjoyed a soothing massage before our flight. We were so thrilled to be Uma Kalai's first Mongolian guests! Thank you, Uma Kalai. We can't wait to come back and stay with my friends.

Celebrated my sisters birthday at this resort and had an exceptional experience! The staff were excellent, always friendly and attentive. The facilities were beautiful and impeccably clean. They had a very accommodating menu for gluten-free allergies, thanks to their talented chef. Everything was well-organized, and the communication was top-notch. Highly recommend for a relaxing and worry-free stay!

There's nothing at all we'd change: they even prepared a 2am to-go breakfast for us to collect in reception before our hike up Mt Batur and had our shoes cleaned once we returned back. Above and beyond in every regard.

This was a sensational experience: the staff were the perfect balance of attentive and respectful of space. Some highlights included a private early morning yoga session overlooking the rice paddies (included free); a welcome rose-petal-decorated room (complimentary) for our honeymoon; a surprise cake (including singing!) for my wife's birthday and the last minute ironing of shirts/dresses before dinner at a moment's notice. It honestly felt like we had a private staff waiting for us whenever we needed. It's a smaller resort (6 villas) so it has a wonderful balance of peace and luxury. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else A huge thanks to Eka, Dicky, Gusti and every single member of staff who made this an experience we'll always remember

We had a fabulous stay at the Uma Kalai. Words genuinely can’t describe the property's position with such outstanding views. Then, alongside the amazing breakfasts, well-equipped, luxurious villas and rooms, is the excellent service and positivity from all the staff, and most of all the feeling of tranquillity, calm and serenity you have whilst staying there. The Manager, Eka, and her wonderful team, welcome you into the Uma Kalai like they are welcoming you into their own home. It was exceptional - and we hope we are lucky enough to visit again one day.

First of all the facilities are really great. Our room has lots of space. Bath, garden, pool, bed every aspects of the room are high quality. Restaurant area also has the best view. Every morning we adore the review. Coolers, smoothies, pancakes, eggs are delicious. When we arrived late to our room we had chance to order some snacks to our room. Potato fries, chicken roll also other favorites. The gym was increadible. I’m the only one who use gym and it was like special to me. Last but not least, the staff was amazing. Before our arrival they added us to whatsapp group for let them know if we have any need. When we arrived to hotel warm welcome and lemon grass tea make us to feel we were at home. Every morning at breakfast time they asked if we have any other needs. They were always smiling. They share places that must to visit on whatsapp. When we decided to go temple they gave us local clothes and also towel for waterfall. When we wanted to see nearby places, they quickly arrange ride. In a word they made our holiday unforgettable by each moment.

The Uma Kalai is nothing short of stunning. We stayed in the Tejas (Fire) Villa which was beautiful. The features of this villa included a lovely large bed, a beautiful bathroom, a great steam/sauna room (very hot if you like it hot!)/shower area, outdoor bath and an outdoor heated pool, all contained within your own private walled-off sanctuary. But it's just a 20 second walk from the villa to the main dining and pool at the resort. This villa did not itself have views, but the surrounding garden within the private walls was lush and tranquil. The main pool area does have a view, and it is 'to die for', as it and the whole resort sits in an elevated position, so it looks out over the lush valley and rice paddies below, so you can relax on the deck chairs surrounding the pool and just gaze off into the tranquil distance. And then you can slip into the lovely 'infinity' pool and gaze at the same view from the pool itself. And the sunset views from the pool deck are equally stunning. The staff were outstanding. Eka, Ade, Gusti and Dicky were super friendly and engaging, and we were like 'family' by the end of our 3 nights. The food was really good. Breakfast and dinners were always scrumptious. Overall, our stay here was one of the best that we have ever had anywhere in the world.

Home Away from Home: A Fabulous Stay at Uma Kalai My stay at Uma Kalai was fabulous. The attentive team made me feel as if I were staying at my family home. Uma Kalai is a gem nestled in the authentic village of Sayan. I loved the privacy of this boutique hotel, the delicious food rooted in the owner’s mother’s heritage, and the stunning views paired with a delightful breakfast. The standout aspect was the staff, who were incredibly attentive to every detail. I truly felt at home and would definitely return. I had a large cockroach in my bathtub area one evening which was unsettling. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Eka and Ranna (simply wonderful).

I loved the nasi goreng. loved the smoothies. Also had the avocado toast which was nice. Dinner could have used some more options. The room (water) is lovely. Turn down service is special. The view is spectacular. I loved every minute of being there. Oh and the spa!- Uni- amazing massages. Well equipped gym too.

The traffic around Ubud - but this isn't anything to do with the hotel. There really isn't anything we didn't like.

The choices of breakfast, traditional Balinese or European was great. The team were all brilliant. Ade & Gutie were our main points of contact and we couldn't fault them. The surroundings and rooms have superb attention to despite detail. And even though we had planned to eat out, we ended up in the restaurant as the food was so good. We will definitely be back.

Amazing property, in a beautiful and quiet location just outside of Ubud. One of the best places I have ever been to. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Also to mention the amazing gym, that is very well equipped.

What a view! We stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. The staff couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect, Dicky was so attentive and had good energy. They treated us to a cake, a flower bed display and a bouquet of flowers. Secluded and private property within striking distance of Ubud centre. We both had a massage and it was amazing, the best massage we’ve ever had - thank you Nonik.

Again, picky but because of 5 stars and high prices... - private pool in the villa not cooled - it's just like a bath tub. - prices for the massage a bit too high. The massage is good but in comparison just too expensive. - the breakfast was good (especially the smoothies) just some little details were a bit odd. For example using simple toast for avo bread instead of real bread, or advertising a dish with olives and then it is one single small olive on the side. ... this is why it is not 10 but 9 because of the prices you pay.

Overall the visit was almost perfect. I am picky here because of the high price you pay. Alot has been said in the previous reviews already. Especially the staff is extremely friendly.
