Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaConstruction going on last few days very close to room & pool made it difficult to relax. We have dietary requirements and our orders were wrong a couple of times. Our empty plates from room service not picked up my staff attracted bugs overnight. Due to our dietary requirements, breakfast was incredibly minimal, although this is very specific to us.
Beautiful place, so peaceful and relaxing. Room was lovely, private balcony was a huge bonus for us. Pool was lovely. A great thing for us was lack of plastic water bottles and instead a large glass bottle that you can fill freely at a water cooler. Hiring scooters is an easy process and well worth it. Hotel organised a snorkelling day for us. Right next to Bukit Love (viewpoint & cafe). Staff were very friendly.

SpainThe staff are all young local people so you can't expect perfection. I've been read some bad rating about them. I'm not agree. This is a remote island with humble people and the price of the accomodation is cheap. Apply logic.
The location was good. Specially for sunset (sunrise is in the other side of the island). You can enjoy it in the pool or on the beach 10 minutes by motorbike. Food was really tasty. Everithing delicious. Bed is king size.

NetherlandsI don't think there is something I can say that I didn't like to be honest. I have no complaints about my stay here. ❤️
I loved the location of the Happinezz Hills. It has the most amazing view over the ocean and you can even see the sunset go down from relexing inside the pool, with a cocktail. They also serve really good food and the room was perfect and clean. They give free beach towels to use by the pool and the staff is very friendly. I will 100% stay here again! 🥳

IndonesiaThe whole place needs some bigger maintenance jobs done. We were originally in a downstairs room which had a lovely big bathroom (separate toilet and shower) however we asked to change because we could hear upstairs guests moving furniture and there were bad smells and noise from the plumbing. But the upstairs room then had an entirely different bathroom layout (where shower water floods the toilet) and the balcony door doesn’t lock or even close properly. Also communication was challenging. We were told upon arrival that the fast boat for the date we were leaving was fully booked, but an agent would get us a ticket for the slow boat. I was told this again the next day. The night before I triple-checked and we were then told we’d have to be at the harbour at 7:30am to buy a ticket! Huh? Plus it turns there was another fast boat put on for later that day. Also they put someone else’s dinner on our bill and tried to insist they’d seen us eating it. I don’t eat meat so they weren’t even dishes we’d order. Mistakes happen, but the amount of time and arguing this took to sort out left a bitter taste in my mouth.
We liked that the rooms were clean and comfortable, it was fairly quiet, and the wifi was great. The location isn’t bad, it’s hard to find a good place on Karimunjawa where you have access to facilities and town but aren’t in the thick of it (no matter where you stay you’ll need to rent a scooter). Bukit Love is a nice sunset spot right next door. The buffet breakfast is good and plentiful. For the most part the staff are helpful. The pool is ok but not super-necessary and was pretty dirty sometimes. It’s a good hotel for this price range, but don’t think by the pics you’re getting uber-luxury for a bargain. If you don’t have much luggage, I recommend hiring a bike in town for the duration of your stay and then driving yourself to the hotel as a taxi there costs 90,000. Also arrange your own ferry. If we needed a decent hotel with good wifi I’d stay here again.

NetherlandsThe breakfast was nice but not a lot of variation. No yoghurt, no cereal bread. It was simple toast and lots of pancakes, eggs and nasi. Since we stayed there for 5 nights, we would have liked to have some more variantion in breakfast. Long waiting time for a snack or drink.
We got another room when we discoverd a big kind animal in our room, we think it was a gecko, the staff helped us immediately and we got another room. Cheap rental of scooters.

Netherlands-
I had the pleasure to stay for 5 nights in this fairly new hotel. I would definitly recommend everyone who visits Karimunjawa to stay at this place. In total Ive stayed in four different hotels in Karimunjawa, and the Happinezz Hills by far is my favorite. The rooms are clean, have comfortable beds and a really spacious bathroom. Moreover, the location is top notch because of the view (the view from the pool and terrace is breathtaking, especially during the late afternoon till sunset), and only around 5 minutes from the village by scooter. The breakfast is fine as well, but don't expect too many options. Finally, the staff is really helpful. They can help you to book excursions, boat/ferry tickets, taxi to and from the harbour, and renting scooters. As stated before, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Karimunjawa!

IcelandI killed 3 cockroaches out of nowhere (2 bathrooms and one just jump from the ceiling on my back). A lot of ants in bathroom. Cleaning was done just in place what you can see, dirty under bed and in bathroom. Wasn’t a comfortable to fall a sleep with knowledge of insects. If you downstairs can easy hear neighbors upstairs. Really bad drinks in bar (expensive, small, can’t feel any alcohol in it)
Nice pool, various options for breakfast. Location was really good.
