Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PakistanThere was an incident with a spider. But that was expected in the place I was living in. It is in the jungle so some animals are expected.
From time I checked in, till the time I checked out, I had a lovely experience. The staff is top-notch. The facility is lovely.

Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Private pool was amazing. Main pool was warmier than private pool. View at main pool was amazing.

PortugalWhile our stay at the villa in Ubud was mostly wonderful, we feel like the shuttle schedule should be more frequent
Our stay at the villa in Ubud was absolutely amazing! The villa itself was incredible, featuring a spacious bedroom, a bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower, and an incredible private pool. Every morning, the hotel served a delicious breakfast in our room. On our last day, since we checked out early, they prepared a breakfast box for us to take away. The staff were lovely, always asking if everything was okay and what we had visited that day. Additionally, there was a common pool with an amazing view and also a shuttle to the mais center of ubud. The stay was perfect, far from the hustle and bustle of Ubud.

VietnamBe careful of stepping on mouse poop, which is fair enough to be around as you stay near nature. You will also be warned of the possibility of seeing some local animals and reptiles when checking in the villa.
A 10-out-10 score for the facilities and tranquil atmosphere this villa offered. And I'd give the staff a score of 11 if it's possible because of their hospitality and supportiveness. Our group of friends had a great and quality time here under the sun of Ubud.

United KingdomYou will be woken up early by constant cockral calls. As long as you have ear plugs, you will be fine! It's a little further out from the mass of Western food if you're watching out for Bali belly. Still places within a 15 minute drive but harder to walk places.
Beautiful accommodation (especially the bathroom!) with individual little garden and pool. The main pool has gorgeous views, although if it's a tan you're after, you don't get direct sun in the sunbed area after midday. Staff were friendly and very quick to meet our every need. Tasty breakfast. Clean rooms and environment. We also asked for a massage to be arranged - it was so relaxing, and we loved every minute of it. Would highly recommend a stay!

AustraliaLovely to escape the tourist masses in town but lots of traffic to get into to see those sights so need to allow time. Last free hotel pick up a bit late with kids as 10pm. Kettle in the kitchen would be helpful. A bit far from other eating options but only minutes from white water rafting!
Stunning setting with infinity pool over looking rainforest valley. View from bed also beautiful. Great value with a whole apartment complete with own gazebo, kitchen and sunbeds. Free shuttles to town and back several times per day.

United KingdomOnly 1 thing - the pool could be heated a bit more. Because it’s shadowed by beautiful shrubs and small trees, it doesn’t get too much sunlight & so a bit cold.
The location over looking the rainforest at the back was amazing and the sun rise in the morning incredible. The rooms were brilliant & self contained with a kitchen. It had its own pool and loungers, which were secluded which was a real bonus. Friendly staff, really attentive and just a lovely little hideaway in a beautiful area of Ubud.

AustraliaI guess it didn't live up to the photos. Even though it was stunning, and the nature surrounding it was beautiful, it still didn't feel as luxurious as what I expected. Still loved it though.
A beautiful traditional style villa a few kilometres out of Ubud. I loved being in nature. The pool was stunning, and a great place to relax after a day of exploring Ubud. We hired a scooter for one day from the hotel for a reasonable price. It was pretty hectic driving in the centre though, so we chose to use Grab for the other days. There are a lot of Warungs to choose from in walking distance, all traditional and delicious, or you could venture into the city for a lot more variation. The main goal of our Ubud trip was to relax, and we were definitely able to do that here: it was so private and you had the choice to use your own pool or the main, public one.
