Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyCan't really enter the ocean because of the corals - the pictures are super nice, but in reality just for the view, if you don't have coral shoes.

United StatesThis is a real Indonesia experience. It’s not a resort. It’s rustic bungalows on the beach. To that end, don’t overpay for what you’re getting! There was loud hammering from some kind of construction at night until 10pm our first night and burning of trash which made it uncomfortable to sit outside at times because of the smoke. No fault of the property owner and well, if you don’t want to experience Indonesia, go somewhere else. The small inconveniences are part of visiting this island.
Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and waking to the sea every morning was blissful. No blasting rock music or crowds of tourists. Best sunsets! Easy access to diving and restaurants. Shower was hot and room was cool. Staff was amazing and went above and beyond and tools care of our every need. I loved staying here so much. Loved it!!

SpainSimilar to other comments. While it is close enough to the port to walk and if the tide is high you can take a shortcut and walk from the port to the property by the beach (no big luggage), the property itself if you’re coming from the main road is at the end of a tiny, long, rough footpath from the road that’s not well indicated and through palm trees, construction, chickens, and stray dogs. We also had some local critters appear in our room at night (the first night was a mouse that woke me up by rummaging through my medicine bag in the closet and then running around the room and then jumping inside the drawer in the night table and chilling there for a while before another lap around the room and parking itself under the bed, and the second night a giant cockroach in the bathroom). We were wary of touching or using the furniture. The bathroom really needs renovation, it needs: new walls, an extractor fan, new windows that aren’t stuffed with paper towels to keep critters out, new sinks, new shower heads - honestly I expected better from the price. While I’m a dog person, if you’re not, it can make the stay more difficult as they love to play on your balcony chairs and loungers at 3am, bring you dead fish, join you for breakfast, chase each other for hours and chew (and try to pee) on the beach bean bags which are likely kept stored at reception instead for that reason. They’re very sweet dogs though! Finally, you can only swim a little during the morning/early afternoon (with rock shoes) as when the tide goes out in the evening there are tons of leftover poles/rocks/debris from seaweed farming and can be quite dangerous.
Beautiful view. It’s amazing to watch the sunset and amazing to have breakfast on the beach watching the water! The color of the water is gorgeous and the staff sweep the beach sand every morning to keep it clean. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful - even the construction workers and fisherman nearby were very friendly and helpful. A few cute dogs to greet you every time you “come home”. Very comfy bed and lots of places to sit to admire the view. You can walk along the beach to the various beach clubs for lunch/dinner and avoid the main road. There’s also a fridge for guests with water and beer and the receptionist will keep a tab for you.

SwedenThe bungalows are simple so don't expect a big bathroom and bedroom. As most of nusa penida the area can feel a bit quiet and sketchy at night
The bungalows at the beach are simple and lovely. Just a couple of steps down from the bungalow and you meet a quite clean beach and ocean where you can swim around but not too far as there are still some old poles left from when there was active fishing operations at the beach. The sunset is magical. The location is close to the main harbour but quite a walk from the more crowded beach clubs.

AustraliaThree points that were not ideal: Firstly, the hot water is almost limited; it used to run out during my 5/7-minute shower. Secondly, the internet doesn't work well, and the Wi-Fi is quite weak, which, on the bright side, helps us forget our phones and enjoy the surroundings more. Thirdly, there was a large dead cockroach stuck in my bed's mosquito net, which was a bit unsettling, but I managed to remove it myself.
It feels like having a private beach for yourself with only 4 bungalows. The view from the room by the beach is incredible. The location was very convenient, as I was a 15-minute walk from where I took the boat back to Bali. There were also some nearby restaurants. Moreover, they allowed me to check in before the scheduled time. The girls working there were extremely attentive and even served me a juice and water while I waited.

AustraliaAlthough technically the location is fantastic beachfront, it was really tricky to find initially, and hell for drivers to get in and out through the tiniest of gangs/laneways. With another house being built across one of the access lanes, I wonder how a car could get in and out in the future? Bathrooms were clean but very basic.
Unique beachfront, close to Banjar Nhua harbour. To hear the sound of the waves each night was really soothing and relaxing. Beds were beautifully comfortable.

AustraliaSurrounding area of bungalow is very rustic. Almost step out into part of a family compound with chickens, pigs and dogs around. Found the dogs in the area aggressive and would bark at you and continue to follow you until you got within the fence line. It was quite scary. There are a lot of upright sticks in the beach out front that you cannot see until the tide goes out (part of fishing farm), very dangerous if kids run and jump into the water. Need to be careful or at least see the water when the tides out before getting in. There is no fridge in your room, but we were able to use the hosts fridge. You can only remove your items when they are around.
You wake up to the sound of waves in the morning. Step out of your door and you are right on the beach. Breakfast options were limited but all delicious. We had french toast and fresh fruit. Facilities/amenities were clean and well kept.
