Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyHad the most amazing stay in Bali! Rindu Homestay was the best place I could go to recharge and find peace and quiet. I spent a few nights the first time, then went back again, after I hit the most touristic spots in the island, to relax and ride a bike through the forest. The services and hospitality were exceptional, the hosts were helpful with tips on excursions and and keen for a chat. Not to mention the breakfasts and snacks, and the smiles! 10 Bintang (stars) are not enough. A must in Bali!!

AustriaThe family was so lovely and made us feel totally at home. Even though we only stayed for two nights we already felt like we were part of their home. Their support was so helpful for our trip and the homemade food after our arrival was wonderful. Big plus was the hot shower!! The rooms were so tidy and clean and it was so special to sleep in a traditional Balinese home with a family temple right next to our room. So thank you so much for everything!!

United KingdomLocation is a little tricky to get to, however once you reach there, it takes you by surprise as this is a gem in the jungle. Expect a few flies or midges, but nothing a bit of spray didn’t get rid of.
Staying at this homestay was an unforgettable experience, marked by the exceptional kindness and warmth of the hosts. As a solo traveler with two children—a 15-year-old and a 2-year-old—I was initially apprehensive about how we would be received. However, from the moment we arrived, it was clear that we were in good hands. The family running the homestay went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and well-cared for throughout our stay. Their genuine hospitality made us feel like part of their family. My two-year-old quickly made new friends among the household. The atmosphere was always welcoming and friendly, fostering a sense of belonging that is rare to find while traveling. What started as a one-night booking turned into a two-night stay because we simply didn't want to leave. Each day was filled with relaxation and joy. The highlight was undoubtedly the home-cooked authentic Balinese food, which was both delicious and a wonderful introduction to the local cuisine and dressing up in traditional Balinese clothing, and just being part of the family. It was a beautiful stay. Highly recommend.

IndonesiaCold shower, because you are surrounded by nature you can expect some ants, etc
Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They helped us organise all the activities and made sure we got the best price. You can also rent a scooter at the property which was handy. They always had free drinking water, tea and coffee available and really good breakfast for an extra charge. The neighbourhood is calm and there are many beautiful waterfalls nearby. Would love to come back some day.

GermanyThe furnishings are a little outdated, but this is very forgivable.
It was one of the best homestays we have ever visited. The family was so adorable, helpful and open hearted. They told us a lot about their culture and we were cooked fresh food every day. One of our scooters had a flat tyre when we arrived. They took care of it immediately.

IndonesiaThe place is located in a very small town, but a scooter is needed to get to local restaurants about 7-10 minutes drive away. There are a couple high-end hotels nearby where you can eat, but these are a bit pricey. (Although one is located in a beautiful rice field.) You can eat at the homestay, but the menu is very limited. There are waterfalls in the area, but again, a scooter is needed to reach them.
The room was big and pretty comfortable. The host was away, but he kept in touch and was very helpful. His wife, although not able to speak a lot of English, was very, very helpful and did her best to be available, but also respected my privacy. I appreciated their help. A scooter can be rented at the property.

United StatesMy heart is so full after my stay here. The owners made me feel right at home, and included me in local traditions. It was truly the best experience I have had in Bali. The location is great as well-tons to do in the area from the Besakih temple (30m) to one of the most famous waterfalls in Bali (10m). It is worth the stay here! Highly recommend whether you are single, with a significant other, with friends or with a family.

PortugalEverything! We felt so welcomed and comfortable that we stayed 3 days with Komang and his beautiful family. The house, the environment, the food, all the little attentions (like the snack that Nene gave us for our roadtrip to our next destination) were very special. We also had great conversations with Komang, the host, who taught us so much about the Balinese culture. We really hope we'll be able to come back soon!

Germanyit’s not a complaint about the owner or the honestly: just recognize there’s no scooter rental anywhere near. so if you prefer doing tours on your own make sure you’ll arrive with a scooter :) but: if you’re not into riding your own scooter the owner will offer great tours.
Rindu Homestay is a great place to stay outside of the busy tourist areas. it’s located in a small village, from where you can easily drive to places like Tirta Gangga or Pura Bekasih. The family is amazing! they’ve been super welcoming, the food served was delicious. since the owner used to work as a tour guide, he gave us to tours around the area and to the temples named below. we can really recommend! the room is very clean :)
