Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI was not a fan of the single use plastic straws provided with drinks. Washable/reusable metal or bamboo straws would have felt more in keeping with the 'eco' theme of the lodge. At the very least, disposable paper straws would be a better option than plastic.
A nice organic feeling to the accommodation (stone and wood villa) with rustic charm. A near seamless integration of outdoors and indoors. Away from traffic and sellers, an oasis of peace and calm away from the heat and noise of places like Kuta and Ubud.We loved the authentic Balinese restaurant at the lodge and the staff we always super friendly and helpful. We also booked the Balinese cooking class, which was a real highlight for us.

ItalyVery little car parking is available. The location isn't particularly interesting, but it's quite near to local sightings.
Very kind and helpful staff. The hotel and the rooms are gorgeously decorated and with very good value. The restaurant provides good meals and they deliver them to your room if you want. Laundry service is available.

Italythere was construction around but thankfully it was not that noisy
Beautiful villa and the surrounding nature is amazing, very relaxing indeed. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. They have many activities to book and the restaurant's dishes were yummy. They have free shuttle to and from central ubud (around 40 minutes away from the villa). What made the stay memorable was also how the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Special thanks to Mba Yuika🙏🏻

IndonesiaAll employees, not just the receptionist, should receive better training in hospitality. They need to learn how to greet, smile, and communicate with guests, and avoid loud conversations in the presence of guests. Staff should also have more knowledge and be able to provide information about local tourist attractions, especially the holy spring as it is the main and unique attraction in the area.
What I liked: The beautiful landscape and well-kept garden, the ceiling of the second-floor restaurant, comfortable rooms, roomy bathrooms, private plunge pools and gazebos in each room, the tasty breakfast, and the convenient location within walking distance of Sebatu's holy spring

AustraliaAll very good probably only a couple of small things would be having to pre order breakfast choice the night before and only supply of drinking water was 2 tiny bottles in room for free, no shop nearby so had to purchase medium size bottles in restaurant.
Beautiful chalets, very big & clean. Large verandaha to relax & take in the totally awesome views of rice fields all around. A very magical & spiritual place for sure. Great friendly staff . Balinese cooking class was good fun. Great location if you just want to relax & get away from it all as not near Ubud centre. A 30 min Gojek ride into town cost 150k idr each way in a car, bike is cheaper but as travelling in group of 3 was same price.

AustraliaThe pillows were a little too tall and firm but the staff helped us by bringing softer pillows.
Pondok Sebatu Eco Village…where do I begin! We had such an amazing experience overall. As soon as you enter, the lush landscapes of rice paddy fields instantly makes you feel calm and at peace. Our lodge was situated amongst ponds with fish, lily pads and trees where the birds chirp in the day, and the frogs croak happily in the evening. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place is for you! The lodge was beautiful and included a safe and a large bathroom. We were lucky to have a private pool as well! The food was incredible by the restaurant chefs, definitely recommend eating on the 2nd floor of the restaurant overlooking the rice fields with views of Mt Agung and Mt Batur on clear days. All the staff were incredibly warm, kind and helpful tending to every need. Youika was particularly lovely, thanks so much! She helped organised our driver Komang for the day - highly recommend booking Komang as he will safely take you to all the places you wish to explore. Furthermore, she helped organise massage therapists within a short notice - they were brilliant!! You can walk to the local temple and village however you’ll need a car/scooter to visit further places such as Tegelalang Rice Terraces, coffee plantations (a must do for coffee/tea lovers) etc. Last but not least, we were lucky to have a romantic dinner and floating breakfast which were offered by Pondok Sebatu at affordable prices that were unforgettable. I could tell the staff worked hard to bring you the best possible experience, thanks so much we loved it!
